Getting to know Dr. Marguerite Summer

I am a welcoming, interactive, and genuine Psychologist who works with a range of adult individuals. I like to create a balance between working toward your goals and allowing for breathing room in therapy... and sometimes even a little humor. I will treat you with respect and acceptance. I integrate various therapeutic approaches (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, mindfulness-based) and work collaboratively with you in a way that suits your needs and helps you feel movement in your life in both the short and long term. PLEASE NOTE: I am considered an out-of-network provider. You may have out-of-network benefits through your insurance plan that cover a significant portion of the cost of therapy. The billing assistant for my practice will be happy to check your benefits and take care of claim submission, so you do not have to deal with any receipts or paperwork. At this time, I am offering both in-person and virtual appointments. I earned my PsyD at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, and am licensed in New York.

Marguerite was professional and welcoming. I would definitely recommend her. Marguerite is really non-judgmental. I feel I can let my guard down with her and we can collaborate. Taught me some very helpful coping strategies so I started to feel better in my day to day life and we can start to get to deeper issues. I am feeling better already.
Dr. Summer was supportive and helpful throughout our time working together. I quickly felt comfortable with her and benefited a great deal from her knowledge and insights. I also liked that she struck the right balance for me as an active therapist, unlike one that never says anything.
