“Dr. Battaglia was great. The staff was good and office was comfortable and attractive. The worst part of the experience was with Zocdoc. It took me four times to try and fill out online forms. First time I was unable to leave signature. Second time I was on my computer and couldn't take pictures of medical cards. If you try to submit without all information done right, I felt like I had to start all over every time. I finally was able to upload medical cards but when I got to the office, I had to do many things I had already done THREE or MORE TIMES. I am not exaggerating when I say I received 15 or ore messages/reminders/confirmations/please complete before you get here etc etc etc messages in the four days before my appointment. I hate Zocdoc and so many more doctors seem to be using them but this was by far my worst experience with the program”

About Dr. Maria Battaglia
Dr. Maria Battaglia completed her undergraduate studies at Marshall University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. She went on to receive her doctorate from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine where she was president of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons Student Organization. As Chief Resident at Jefferson Health New Jersey, she completed her surgical residency in forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery with comprehensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Battaglia joins Gotham Footcare with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery, sports-related injuries, and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Battaglia is well versed in an array of treatments for the foot and ankle but is especially passionate and skilled in bunion and hammertoe correction with an emphasis on cosmesis.
Dr. Battaglia is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Association for Women Podiatrists. She received specialized training and certification in arthroscopic foot and ankle surgery by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Battaglia strives to provide the best surgical and non-surgical care to patients through her strong commitment to medicine and wellness.
As a former Division I collegiate golfer, Dr. Battaglia is passionate about keeping patients walking whether it is for weekend golf rounds or just activities of daily living. She incorporates her discipline learned from her athletic background into her professional practice of medicine.
Dr. Battaglia grew up in Pittsburgh and has lived in Cleveland and Philadelphia previous to New York City. When she isn’t practicing podiatry, she enjoys running and cycling throughout the city, playing golf, and snowboarding.
