Hi I'm Marie, and I'm a Functional Nutrition & Health Strategist. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), I love partnering with people to facilitate positive changes in their daily practices and choices to support achieving their best life possible in body, spirit, mind, and soul. I have an avid appetite and curiosity not only for interesting foods, herbs, spices, and cuisines, but for learning how our bodies respond to different input from our environment.I've had the honor of working in many facets of healthcare including as a Clinical Dietitian in Medical City Hospital in Dallas, as a Nutritionist, Diabetes Educator, and Clinical Research Coordinator in Endocrine & Diabetes Outpatient Centers, as a Director of a Diabetes Education Center, as a Home Health Consultant specializing in pregnant women who had diabetes, and as a Private Practice Nutritionist counseling clients of all ages and backgrounds, in addition to coordinating public health outreach and workplace initiatives.I focus on the integrity and function of the body as an orchestrated system which has the ability to heal itself if given the right balance and input. I am fascinated with the current advances and knowledge in gut health, DNA, metabolomics, personalized nutrition, the glycocalyx, kidney, brain, and heart health, and more. This is such an exciting time in science!A couple of interesting facts about me include that I've scuba dived in what has been dubbed one of the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World, The Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman which begins in 20 feet of water and then drops off into the abyss thousands of feet below sea level, and I've gone zip lining on one of the longest and highest zip line courses on earth in Alaska in the ancient rainforest where the trees are 17 stories tall.
