“My visits with Dr. Garza are always informative. In July, he did my colonoscopy and after reviewing the results of the procedure, he prescribed additional medication to manage my colitis. Today’s visit was a follow up to find out if there was any improvement. I was happy to report that the medication improved my condition, and he gave me additional instructions on how to handle future flare ups. He is very easy to talk to and addresses all of my questions. He is an excellent doctor.”

About Dr. Mario Garza
Dr. Garza is a San Antonio native and graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's University, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Dr. Garza has a special interest in colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, and the diagnosis and management of gastroesophageal reflux disease. He is deeply involved in teaching young medical students and actively participates in numerous professional organizations and societies. Dr. Garza is fluent in Spanish. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as jogging and fishing.
