Dr. Marissa Pedro is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She went to Juniata College where she studied biology with a minor in philosophy. She earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency training at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Pedro has a particular interest in holistic medicine and women’s health. She holds the relationships she builds with her patients in high regard. She prides herself on being an advocate for her patients and working in partnership with her patients to ensure their needs are met. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, running and painting, and is currently developing her skills in oil painting. She is new to New York City and is very excited to be a part of Mount Sinai Doctors working alongside such a fantastic team of practitioners.

Dr. Pedro is a great listener and pays attention to her patients. The office, however, made it such a difficult experience that I will not be returning. After trying to check in via the kiosk, as instructed, I experienced technical difficulties that made me 10 minutes late for my appointment. When I approached the front desk about this, they informed me that I was too late for my appointment and the doctor would not be able to see me as she was with another patient. They rescheduled my appointment for 2+ hours later, saying they would let me know if the doctor could see me sooner. After waiting 2+ hours, I walked into the room only to find out my rescheduled appointment was booked for the wrong reason. When I shared that I was visiting for an annual, I was told by the nurse "We don't have time for that." Luckily, we were able to sort it out, but I will not be returning & do not recommend this office if you respect your time.

Bad bedside manner. Her tone during my appointment was very condescending and lacking any type of kindness. During my appointment I almost wanted to ask if I did something to upset her because I was so confused where the attitude was coming from. Also, doesn’t communicate efficiently about details of further testing needed/doesn’t provide information when asked on portal after appointment.

This doctor was so unprofessional and condescending. She spoke to me like I was 5 and patronized me the entire time. She asked the same questions multiple times and even flirted with my partner during my visit. Absolutely ridiculous.
