“The experience with the doctor was excellent. I was not seen at the appointment time I have scheduled with Zocdoc as the hospital is not aware of it. After seeing the email about appointment confirmation, they asked to come after 5 hours as thats the only availablae slot. My morning appointment has become an afternoon one and the wait is also a little longer at the office. The doctors are excellent and nurses are awesome but the front office reception is not so great. I would recommend calling the hospital to confirm the appointment booked through Zocdoc prior to visiting the hospital directly.”

About Dr. Mark Lessner
As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in sports medicine and arthroscopy, Dr. Mark Lessner is passionate about helping athletes of all levels to get back in the game.
Dr. Lessner completed medical school at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. After that, he completed his general orthopedic residency at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City and then headed to Cincinnati for a sports medicine fellowship.
His fellowship solidified his passion for sports medicine and orthopedic care for athletes. During his sports medicine fellowship, Dr. Lessner was an assistant team physician for both the Cincinnati Bengals, an NFL football team and The University of Cincinnati sports teams. He also had the opportunity to serve as a physician for men’s and women’s professional tennis and sand volleyball tournaments.
Dr. Lessner is trained to manage all areas of orthopedic care. His interests lie in care of athletes of all ages and levels, as well as advanced arthroscopy and surgery of the shoulder and knee. He is a proud member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Mark Lessner knows the North Texas area very well. He attended Allen High School, where he played football. Dr. Lessner now lives in McKinney with his wife Beth and their three children.

Mark is a wonderful doctor. He is very patient and makes sure that every concern is addressed. I am currently in recovery from surgery and the experience has been very pleasant so far. His assistant is great as well. Wait times are a bit inconvenient at times but understandable.

The wait time was unacceptable with no communication from the staff. I was originally booked to see the MD and was contacted by the office to reschedule with the PA. I am a new patient. If the provider is running behind, it is now expected to be notified. My time is just a valuable as any medical provider and I do not have an extra hour in my day to wait for a late provider, especially at 10am.

Dr. Lessner is a very personal and knowledgeable guy. I've been seeing him for recurrent frozen shoulder issues for over 10 years and he has been very helpful in relieving the pain and prescribing an aggressive therapeutic regimen to shorten the duration of the very bothersome issue.

I did not feel comfortable at all once the doctor actually came in. I waited 45 minutes after my appointment time to be taken back and was seen longer by the nurse than the doctor. Thankfully! Because she was nice, but the doctor creeped me out. The front office staff was extremely rude and the check out person rolled her eyes at me several times because I was asking her to complete my check out when she wanted to converse with her coworker about her Thanksgiving festivities.

Had a wonderful experience at Performance Orthopaedics. I got right in (didn’t have to wait) and everyone in the office was smiling and helpful. The Dr was incredibly knowledgeable and able to quickly diagnose my shoulder issue. Highly recommend this place!
