About Dr. Mark Pipher
Mark R. Pipher, DPM, FACFAS, is an expert in lower extremity trauma and reconstructive surgery in children and adults. He cares for patients at the Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona, offices of Desert Foot and Ankle. He also enjoys treating wounds and caring for patients with diabetic foot issues.
Dr. Pipher began his education at Arizona State University in Tempe. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he moved northeast to Philadelphia, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University. Then, he completed his residency at Oakwood Healthcare System in Wayne, Michigan.
Dr. Pipher is a member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Podiatric Medical Association, and Arizona Podiatric Medical Association.
He’s affiliated with several area hospitals and Healing the Children Southwest Chapter, an organization dedicated to bringing quality health care to needy and underserved children. In 2009, he took his humanitarian work abroad to Guatemala, where he performed surgical treatments on children suffering from complex ankle and foot deformities.
When he’s not working at Desert Foot and Ankle, Dr. Pipher enjoys playing sports, spending time with his friends and family, and studying biomechanics.

Dr Pipher was awesome. Down to earth and wrote tangible goals and tx outlines. Certainly felt like he had my best interest in mine and it wasn’t just a ”people mill”. The only complaint I would have is the tablets for check-in and new patient paperwork. Tech is the way of the world ,I get it. But having to get up and down 34 times to go see if the front desk could help me with an Achilles injury wasn’t or never will be the most pleasant. That’s the only thing I would change about my experience.

Wow! He took the time to explain everything that was going on the course of treatment and all the different options. He would rather try other treatments verses doing surgery which is nice. I left with a plan of action and follow up.

Dr Pipher was very pleasant. He spent time inquiring about my foot & ankle pain, and explained what he was going to do at the visit. After x-ray, he was back in my room in a few minutes and spent a good amount of time reviewing and explaining my x-ray images. He told me his plan to proceed with care for my pain and try to avoid surgery if possible. His goal was to make me more comfortable and eliminate/reduce pain. He let me ask as many questions as I needed.
I felt like I was in very good hands for immediate care and moving forward. I will have a follow-up appointment in a few weeks.
I highly recommend Dr Pipher.

I was very pleased with the the Dr and his staff. They were all very nice and the Dr explained the whole procedure to me before starting. He applied a numbing agent and a cold spray on my toe so I wouldn't feel the injection of anesthesia. I really appreciated that!

I was very taken back,because of the fact he is so k,ind and patient with me. Dr Pipher, reminds me of the podiatrist that I went to back in Pa. I was also a little partial because he went to college at Temple University. Go Owls. I can tell that Dr., really loves what he does. One more thing, I found Dr Pipher through Zocdoc. I would highly recommend ZocDoc, and Pipher to anyone.in my thoughts I would consider him, at least. ( 20 Stars).

Dr Pipher is an excellent provider.
Prior to addressing the reason why I was there, Dr Pipher did an full exam of my feet and ankles. This was nice because I had never been to a podiatrist and it turned out that my ankle clicking was something that I shouldn't ignore.
When we discussed the reason I made the appointment, he gave me multiple treatment options (most invasive to least invasive). After deciding how to treat the ailment, he explained the procedure each step of the way.
I will definitely recommend Dr Mark Pipher to anyone having ankle of foot problems.
