About Dr. Mark Soltany
Dr. Mark Soltany is a native of Fairfax County. Mark grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and attended W.T. Woodson High School. He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he obtained a BS in Chemistry, He completed his medical school training at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Soltany received his Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery training at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat hospital and its affiliated hospitals in New York City. He has a special interest in allergies of the ears, nose and throat, and has completed additional training in otolaryngic allergy. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of the Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Soltany and his wife Susan reside in Mclean, Virginia. His three adult children are completing their graduate studies. If he is not on his Peloton bike, Dr. Soltany loves to hike in Great Falls or in the Shenandoah National Park. He also tries to keep up his tennis game.

Waited over an over to be seen. No apology. After a 5 min evaluation left with no resolution to my issue abs was told to come back because they didn’t have time to complete my evaluation. Have to schedule another appointment. Two staff members were arguing about something unrelated in front of me while I was checking out delaying my checkout. Really disappointing experience overall.

I visited this ENT clinic as a self-pay (uninsured) patient and unfortunately had a frustrating experience related to billing transparency.
I was given one price before the visit, a different amount was accepted at checkout, and later I received an additional bill that I was not informed about at the time of payment. I did not receive any written estimate or clear explanation in advance.
The visit itself was disappointing and did not fully address my concern. The lack of clear communication around pricing and billing overshadowed the entire experience.
If you are paying out of pocket, I strongly recommend confirming all charges in writing before your appointment.

The doctor is the best at listening, going over data, making recommendations and giving you a sense of reassurance. I joked that he could be a therapist as well as an ear doctor. You can’t go wrong. He is wise, experienced and professional to an extreme. This was my third visit and it certainly will not be my last.

Dr. Soltany was recommended by a friend. Check-in was fast and efficient without having to repeat info already provided on-line. Nurse was friendly and supportive. Dr. Soltany listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and made follow-on recommendations for vestibular therapy, updated hearing test, and 6 month recheck.

Unfortunately, the Patient Portal for this clinic is poorly designed and not well maintained, which made the elaborate online check-in frustrating. It became impossible to complete the full process online.
However, once I got to meet the doctor, my impression changed. He was willing to carefully consider the information I provided and performed an unhurried examination while keeping me continously appraised. This made what could have been an unpleasant procedure quite tolerable. I left with new and actionable information, a referral, and with a promising outcome in sight.
