Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

He felt very warm and genuine. Asked great questions and I felt really heard. He made me excited to continue this journey.
Dr. Varela was so patient and kind. I booked my follow up visit with him after our first session. I'm excited to my recovery journey!
Amazing experience so far! Doctor Varela is very professional and does a great job talking through things with me. He is also super quick to respond to my messages if I ever have any questions.
My experience was pretty disappointing. First, there was some confusion about my scheduled appointment time. Secondly, the doctor asked me the same question multiple times throughout our session, which showed me he wasn’t listening and was more focused on taking notes. He also didn’t hear most of what I said so I had to repeat myself often. Lastly, as our session was ending he informed me that they would likely refer me elsewhere. A few hours later, I was contacted by an office administrator with a list of mental health referrals. These were not personal references. The first referral was the National Suicide Prevention hotline. Overall, I felt that I shared very personal things with a stranger who never really seemed capable of helping me in the first place. I looked up his background and discovered he’s a very new doctor. So, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, I would not recommend him. He wasn’t a bad person, just inexperienced. Hope this helps others!
