Getting to know Marlene Tang
I am a board-certified and licensed Psychiatry-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master's in Family Nursing from North Park University and a Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Northern Kentucky University. I take pride in taking my time to get to know my patients' concerns and goals for each visit. I offer mental health evaluations and medication management. My practice is open to clients aged 17-64 with general psychiatric needs, with a particular interest in anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD.
My goal is to develop and maintain empathetic, trust-based relationships with my patients, creating a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, actively listening to patients and their families to understand their concerns and experiences. I collaborate with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate their goals and preferences.
I prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, addressing concerns and side effects with empathy and transparency. Additionally, I offer empathetic counseling and psychotherapy, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to support patients on their journey to recovery.
What should a new client know about working with you?
"The initial appointment usually begins with an intake and assessment process, determining medical and mental health history, current symptoms, any previous treatments or therapies, and any medications they are currently taking.
We will discuss your concerns safely and confidentially and based on the evaluation, I will recommend an individualized treatment plan. This plan may include therapy (individual or group), medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and coping strategies.
If indicated, I will recommend medication management and will discuss the rationale, potential side effects, and how to take the medication.
I provide education about their condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms to empower clients with knowledge and skills to improve their mental health.
We will discuss follow-up plans and establish a schedule for follow-up appointments to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support."

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
