About Martelle Blaine
Martelle is a board-certified physician associate who works with Dr. Oliver Schipper. She graduated from Mercy College in 2019 with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Martelle has always had a passion for orthopedics and sports medicine, which she mainly attributes to her lifelong participation in sports, most recently as a lacrosse player at the University of Richmond. Prior to that, she swam and played lacrosse competitively where she grew up in Connecticut at Greenwich High School.
Martelle received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond in 2010. After working in private equity for five years, Martelle decided to revisit her passion for medicine and become a physician associate.
She is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS). While at Mercy College, Martelle spearheaded a medical mission to The Gambia in Africa as she has a passion for international medicine and giving back to underserved communities when she can. Outside of work, Martelle enjoys traveling and exploring new cities with her family as well as cycling and running.
