Mary Benton Guthrie, an Atlanta native, is an NCPAA board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in general Dermatology. She graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Emory University.
Mary Benton has had a long-standing passion for dermatology and has been working in the field since beginning her career as a physician assistant in 2011. She performs skin cancer screenings and evaluates a wide range of dermatologic conditions in both pediatric and adult patients. The only good thing that Miss Benton provided was a quick wait time and assessment. After I left things quickly went downhill very fast and steep. First my appointment was on a Tuesday and I had a rx being filled. I called Friday just for them to say “oops we forgot to fax it to your insurance”. So now I have to wait literally almost a whole week extra just because of their mistake. They then proceeded to give me samples but the samples were only supposed to be for a week until my medicine got here. The office then proceeded to leave out my details that I’ve been on many different topicals from the insurance causing them to deny my prior authorization. Every time it was denied I was NOT informed and I had to call and find out myself. They took a week: week and a half ordeal and made it last almost a month without my medication. The front desk staff and nurse were the worst part every time I had a question they dismissed it to another branch or just didn’t provide any help. 1/10

Mary was so sweet! I have been to a couple dermatology offices before, and I always felt rushed. I felt like they never listened and tried to get patients in and out as quickly as possible. I was really happy with my experience at Atlanta Skin Wellness Center! Mary and her MA were really welcoming, knowledgable, friendly, and were just very nice. I would highly recommend this office and Mary! This will definitely be my dermatology office for all future visits, and I will definitely recommend her to family and friends.
