“The front desk staff always gives me a hard time, probably because I'm caucasian. They tried to tell me that if I don't confirm with the pharmacy if they have my medication then the doctor can't see me. I work in hospice and also take care of my mom who has parkinsons and a fib, I don't have time to come back. I was able to speak W Dr Maryam and she is always amazing and made me feel cared for. All the doctors are great besides the front desk staff.”

Maryam Syed is a concerned and engaged internist and primary care doctor caring for the Schaumburg, IL community. Dr. Syed obtained her medical degree from Khyber Medical University. I recently had a very disappointing experience at the office of Dr. Mariam Syed. I had scheduled an appointment specifically to see Dr. Syed, but upon arrival, I was informed that she could not come in. Instead, I was seen by a nurse. While I understand that circumstances can change, I was frustrated that no one had contacted me beforehand to see if I wanted to proceed with my appointment or reschedule.
Additionally, I received my blood work results, which indicated blood in my urine, and I was left in the dark about what this meant or what steps I should take next. Despite the seriousness of this finding, no one from the office reached out to discuss my chart or the implications of the urine analysis. It felt very neglectful and raised concerns about the level of care provided.
Overall, this experience has left me feeling dissatisfied & unheard. I expected better communication and followup regarding my health especially when dealing with potentially serious issues. Go somewhere else

Had to wait an hour to finally be put into an ex room. No type of notification that the doctor was running behind. I sat in my room for another 20 minutes, stepped out to ask when I could expect the doctor and she finally came in.
Did not perform full physical. I was put back into my room after some tests, and sat there for another ten minutes for now reason. I stepped out to ask if I was done, got an “oh yea you’re all done” I was forgotten about. They then printed a referral for me in one minute and sent me on my way. How much longer would they have left me there if I didn’t step out and ask? Dr seemed nice, but not happy with the experience or level of care I received. I won’t be returning.

I loved her! She listened to me for as long as I needed to explain all that was going on with me. She showed concern and assured me that we will figure this out & discussed next steps. She followed up as promised. I loved her. Did I already say that?

I'm disappointed i fasted and went to have work done to find out lab was closed so defeated my whole purpose for going. I had to call to confirm and I asked about work nothing was said it would be closed. That part was very disappointing. Took my morning for really nothing now I had to schedule quest and reschedule to see doctor to review.

Dr. Syed is thorough and took her time with me as a patient, and I really appreciated her attention to detail and knowledge. She addressed my primary concerns and then some.
However, the office was unclean and young staff was completely unprofessional (I say this as a young person also in the medical field). I wouldn’t be surprised by HIPAA violations and PHI issues. I hope they improve on those aspects considerably because I do want to continue seeing Dr. Syed for primary care

Dr. Syed was extremely attentive and professional. I loved that I told her my symptoms and afterwards she immediately had a plan for blood work and other tests she thought I needed done instead of just blowing off my symptoms like most providers tend to do now. Her team that did my blood work was awesome too because I am not the best when it comes to get blood drawn. They were efficient, quick and extremely empathetic.

The doctor was great! She went over my medical history thoroughly and when I expressed my health concerns she quickly had suggestions and recommendations. She examined me, ordered tests and the entire experience was pleasant and felt very natural. She has a very warm personality.
