About Dr. Matthew McLean
Dr. Matthew McLean is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine. Dr. McLean graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. degree in Biological Sciences with Distinction. He received his M.D. degree from Washington University School of Medicine which is routinely ranked amongst the top medical schools by U.S. News and World Report magazine. Dr. McLean completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then pursued postgraduate fellowship training in sports medicine at Harvard University / Massachusetts General Hospital where he served as an assistant team physician for the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and Harvard University teams. Dr. McLean has been in practice in Northeast Philadelphia since 2004. He receives referrals from internal medicine physicians, family practice physicians, and other orthopaedic surgeons. He treats patients with routine and complex sports medicine injuries as well as more general orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Dr. McLean's special areas of expertise include arthroscopic knee surgery and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Dr. McLean is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Unfortunately the elevator was inoperative and I had to struggle up the staircase. I was called about the situation beforehand, and given the opportunity to re-schedule.

And his injections of my knees were virtually painless.

The doctor was fine but the entire staff was glum. Check in person was all business. Person that brought me to the exam room never said hello or made eye contact. Spent the whole time facing the computer with her back to me. Xray tech was strictly business as well; No greeting. The mood of the staff makes a big impression on whether I decide to return because it is a reflection of how they feel about where they work and the job they do.

Positive experience with Dr. McLean and MBO office. Quick, super efficient with no waiting time. From reception to radiologist to nurse, friendly, thorough and efficient. Dr. McLean didn't seemed rushed and took care to explain diagnosis and provide options for treatment. I would recommend this practice.

I like the doctor, but the receptionist was rude in my opinion, I filled out a form on a tablet, when I got to the exam room I was asked the very same questions by the nurse. Receptionist refused to take my insurance cards or even verify the information saying I'll send you a link. Next day I tried to conform to the demands of the site. When I got to the section that asked me to upload front and back pictures of my insurance cards. The system did not accept my pictures.

Dr McLean was very attentive, interested and listened to the issues I was experiencing. I didn’t feel rushed or dismissed as have with other doctors in the past that were not associated with Mercer Bucks Orthopedics.
