As a trained specialist of sports medicine and arthroscopy I treat a myriad of shoulder, hip, knee, elbow and ankle injuries. Specific rehabilitation for these injuries and disorders are prescribed and supervised by myself as the treating physician. Most injuries can be treated non-operatively, but when surgery is necessary, arthroscopic small incision techniques are generally utilized. These techniques allow for quicker recovery, less pain, and improved cosmesis. Before a treatment plan is implemented, I believe patients should be fully educated about their condition, so that they may participate in the decision-making process. Each patient has different functional demands and lifestyle expectations, and treatment should be tailored to meet each patient's individual needs. When surgical treatment is indicated, I take the time to explain the risks and benefits of surgery to each patient. It is very important for the patient to understand the details of the rehabilitation process, as well the expected outcome after surgery. **PLEASE NOTE THE OFFICE DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS**

Very professional & concerned for my well being. Highly recommended for any concerns or issues with knee pains.
Dr. T was great. Leveled with me, listened to what I had to say and felt like he was very attentive.
Great doctor for anyone covered under workers compensation. Excellent staff and quite professional
Very pleasant and professional office Highly recommend this practice
Very professional, nice office, however I felt like I was rushed out. I had a few questions that were not answered. Another 5 minutes of review would have been helpful and much appreciated.
The reception area is very welcoming, the secretary was more than nice, she leaves her desc and walk to the seating to talk and help patients who have hard time walking. The Doctor was pleasant, took x-rays on the premises, took the time to explain his findings explaining the x-ray image and skeleton parts in his office. For a person that suffers pain, it's a place to go and be treated. the less than 30 minutes wait, was not bad, they have a collection of very nice paintings that made me feel relaxed and i didn't mind a little wait. So much better than other places that I visited.
Great staff very dr very pleasant answered all my question and explained what was wrong .
Saw me quickly for an injured foot. Was able to get an X-ray and diagnosis within 45 minutes. Gave me helpful advice and treatment suggestions.
He was very efficient. We got right to the point - took the xray on site, and was clear with recommended treatment. I have a very demanding work schedule but i was able to squeeze this in no problem. Really recommend
This was my first time visiting Dr. Maxim and he was excellent. He was attentive, and very accurate with his diagnosis. My excruciating knee pain was gone in an hour after I got home. Highly recommend.
The staff was courteous friendly and very helpful. Didn't have to wait.
Quick, professional and on point.
Very happy with this appointment especially filling the form previously.????
He is professional, prompt, and understanding.
Took 2 weeks to get my MRI results, and that's only after I called many times.
Dr. Tyorkin and staff were very welcoming and nice. Dr. Tyorkin took the time to examine me and advise what was the issue and what was the solution to the issue. He was extremely nice.
The doctor barely spoke during my assessment. Literally asked me two questions during my 5 minute evaluation. Was very uncomfortable. He decided I needed an MRI...staff said they would call when they received my pre authorization. Never called. I called them and got script info- they never sent it to the imaging office. All around nightmare. Will get my MRI results and take them to a different doctor.
Very professional and easy to talk to. Very refreshing in NYC.
Very attentive to my needs.
They weee excellent and the ladies at the front desk was amazing.Twinnie, phedora and Marlin. Highly recommended.
Great experience, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes and that is such a plus. Nice doctor, very kind and honest.
Poor bedside manner. He did try to provide more information for my ailment by printing something online, however he didn't even exam me or ask any other questions about my history.
I went there as I had leg pain after increasing my jogs/walks from 2.5 miles to 3.5-5 miles assuming it was a over use injury. He was dismissive and almost mocking about the walking and didn't understand why I would be there as apparently I should have known the pain is muscular/vascular and not bone related. He asked why I would be recommended to see him, and I stated because the pain started when I increased intensity and miles - he didn't respond. He gave me a card of a vascular person. He was just unengaged and dismissive, even if I was wrong in my assumption I would still expect a doctor to show some interest in me as a paying patient.
He didn't spend more than 5 minutes speaking with me, told me to put on a boot for my foot and walked away to the next appointment. Then the receptionist gave me a note with an address to go purchase a boot for my ankle. When I arrived a the facility [on crutches] they informed me they don't sell the boot at the address provided [and I asked if that was the correct address].
Doctor Tyorkin was very thorough. He took his time to explain the procedure in detail and answer all my questions with no signs of being annoyed or in a hurry. He really paid attention to what I was saying. The downside is that the staff at the front desk lacks interpersonal skills. One of the ladies seemed annoyed!
Dr. Tyorkin was very helpful, the office was well-run, I would definitely return if my knee pain persists!
Very thorough and easy to speak with. Bedside manner was excellent. Felt very comfortable once in his office. The waiting area is not the biggest but the wait is less than 30 minutes, which is great.
Very on time, save my time and understand what I I need
Mt meeting with Dr. Tyorkin was brief but informative.
He is smart, fast and has a good bedside manner.
Very rushed approach. His office staff are abrupt and the radiologist spoke broken english.
The office is beautiful and clean. The receptionist was courteous. Dr. Tyorkin took x-rays and explained what my problem is and told me what I néed to do. He was professional and courteous. The only downfall was that he doesn't accept credit cards for payment. I will go back to him in the future.
The technology in the office was really outdated. I was not confident that the X-rays would pick up small details.
The best doctor! Very attentive and patient, exactly what I needed. Will be recommending him to all my friends.
The experience overall was good but the office itself is a little outdated.
VERY slow response time. I had an MRI that reached his office on a Friday and it took me calling incessantly for a week to receive any results, let alone a call back or email response back. Even after obtaining these results I am waiting to hear back for a referral that I was promised to have by email a week ago. The day of the initial appointment was great, lovely office and he was very prompt and focused, but since then it has not been a very good experience.
From the time I stepped into the office the receptionist was polite. I was in and out in less than one hour. The doctor patiently listen to me describe my injury and proceeded to conduct an x-ray and was given a result promptly. Thank you Dr. MT.
He was nice didn't rush the visit and was professional and answered all my questions.
No issues. Quick visit.
I went to see Dr. Tyorkin about pain in my hip. After a 1-minute exam, I was told I needed an X-Ray. When the X-Ray came out with no visible problems, he said it was muscle and told me to take ibuprofen. I would have appreciated a more thorough discussion about what the problem could be. I felt like I was rushed during my appointment.
Dr Tyorkin really knows what he is doing. He didn't try to oversell and made sure every aspect was reviewed before recommending the surgery. The aftercare was just as good as the pre-care and the recovery was within the expectations he set out. His bedside manner is a little off-putting at first, but once you push past that barrier and he knows you want to know everything that is going on, he is very communicative.
Great doctor i would definetly go back there to see him.
extremely nice and thorough with exam of my knee
Very professional and friendly. Helpful and answered any questions I had. Would definitely go back!
Dr. Tyokin was very professional, friendly and fast as well as his assistant and registration desk.
Very clean office and very professional staff
Great doctor, through explanation of condition and treatment.
Dr. Tyorkin was just terrific. He diagnosed my problem very quickly, and prescribed the necessary treatments. I feel I'm on the road to recovery, and very happy about that.
Dr. Tyorkin was very professional, informative, and knowledgeable. I will consult with him again in the future.
very professional, waited only a few minutes. he listened to my problem, checked my knee and prescribed some physical therapy before I came back. he seemed to make sense in light of everything i knew about my knee.
The receptionist's first words to me: did you bring cash or a check for your co-pay? They don't accept credit cards?! She said that the assistant that works the credit card machine isn't in until 10am...she then told me to go to the ATM around to corner and come back....I've never been asked this before at a doctor's office...not very professional, you can't send an invoice? Met with the Dr. for 10min, told me to come back in 2wks, but I won't be going back.
The waiting room was dirty and crowded; the examining table had no paper on it; the doctor was rushed and I didn't feel like a good plan was being made. I needed to ask a lot of questions and felt, even as I was there, that I would never follow-up with his suggestions. Frustrating experience, parking is awful and I am no closer to feeling better.
thanks doctor !
Great! I was amazed to get an appointment with Dr. Tyorkin less than 24 hours prior. He was extremely helpful and responsive to my ankle issues -- highly recommended!
Was excellent, he explain everything to me I feel comfortable with the Dr. I will go back to him, I like the professionalism with patients and I don't way long to be seeing by the Dr.
I would not recommend Dr Tyorkin. He was nice enough but not thorough at all. I did not feel like he spent the time to fully understand my ailment. The staff at his practice was very impersonal. Purely business.
Dr. Tyorkin is not the greatest explainer in the world - visits were short and I got the sense he was a little uncomfortable talking with patients.
Excellent, as usual no wait time and very prompt service. This is why I visit ZocDoc to review doctors before choosing them.
really great experience. dr gave me a candy treat as soon as he walked in. great personality, funny guy and he seemed very knowledgeable and caring. would def recommend to family and friends
Great fast and to the point
i think an orthopedic place where people with moving disability go, should have an x-ray machine on site. So that the patients do not have to walk or cab back and forth to get their x ray to the doctor.
Fantastic! All around excellent treatment.
The doctor is caring, professional and punctual. Staff/facilities are first rate.
Dr. Tyorkin was everything you'd expect from a doctor. He was informative, polite and took the time to answer the questions I had. His staff was direct and to the point in a friendly manor. I would recommend him.
Very accurate in treatments and diagnosis
Great! Staff at the Queens location
He was very nice, thorough. The office was very nice and pleasant to deal with. Got in to see him very easily.
I thought that he clearly explained what I was dealing with and had a plan to fix it.
Dr tyorkin was very good. Honest and friendly
The doctor was great, he had very positive energy and I felt comfortable. Although the medical biller and the rest of staff have little to no experience when it comes to workers compensation. This created a bit of frustration which made me feel very uneasy.
My wrist healed ok so that was a relief. I visited Tyorkin a total of 3 times, every time, he seemed very rushed. He shouldn't be scheduled patients 15 minutes apart, that's insane. Also, I paid my co-pay each time i visit, and not once did they tell me about extra. Today i received a bill for my cast which was 4 months after my service. This place needs to hire a new person to do their accounting books.
My only issue is two months later they still haven't billed my insurance company. Kind of annoying to think that 6 months after the appointment might be when I get the bill.
Efficient, knowledgable. Dr. Tyorkin spent time diagnosing my particular ailment and recommended a course of treatment. X-ray operation is right in the office and is taken care of quick and easy. Dr. Tyorkin showed me the x-ray and pinpointed the possible cause of the problem, then prescribed a NSAID to deal with inflammation.
Dr. tyorkin looks professional and I was comfortable with the visit.
I went to a follow up visit after receiving a synvisc shot in my knee. This "Doctor" did not even look at my knee. He barely made eye contact. Never again.
The doctor understood my problem and recommended next steps to get it resolved.
Dr is good and i would recommend. the office manager who was responsible for getting my medication filled was incompetent.
I really like Dr. Tyorkin when I arrived and had my visit. I left the office feeling good and optimistic about the situation. After my MRI which I did two days later, it took him 8 days to get back to me on the results. The clinic sent him the results THE SAME day. I called his office EVERY single day for 8 days leaving messages with his assistant. The office kept saying that they didn't receive any information. Yet I was able to get the pictures, CD and formal write up 3 days later. By the time he called me back, I had already scheduled an appointment with a new Ortho. Turns out I need surgery and the damage extent of my knee is huge yet Tyorkin could care less when he called. He made it sound completely nonchalent and was not helpful at all. Complete waste of my time. Definitely go elsewhere. My new Ortho is absolutely amazing and I trust him wholeheartedly.
The doctor and his staff were very pleasant and professional.Dr Tyorkin explained everything about my knee pain and came up with a solution.I was in and out in less than a half an hour and that included filling out the new patient forms..I would recommend Dr Tyorkin to a friend
I would definitely see him again, he was very nice and explained what was going on with my knee. He answers questions completely, is quick and thorough. I would definitely recommend him!
Did the job. Highly recommend
There are a lot of doctor's who talk like they're lawyers. Dr. Tyorkin was straight up and honest with me and I respect that.
their staff needs a to improve the worst.
Very knowledgeable and great bed side manner. This was an initial consultation only.
Dr Tyorkin was very prompt, and was very clear in explaining the cause of my knee pain. His manner was professional and personable, making me confident my treatment was in good hands.
Great experience again. Highly recommend Dr. Tyorkin. Efficient, smart, and good advice and treatment over time.
He was good, diagnosed the sprained back condition and recommended good treatment. Failed to point out the fact that I have scoliosis and that it my have been a longer term reason for the shorter term problem.
He is ok. Very introverted. Intelligent but rushes. He needs to take a little more time with his patients. Other than that, he's good.
Very knowledgeable and kind.
Very quick. Would definitely recomend it
I have had systemic problems with my knee for years and could never figure out what was wrong. Within minutes the Dr explained to me what was wrong and how to fix it. He even had a plastic model of a knee to show exactly how it worked. Awesome job!
Very good! Professional who takes his time to evaluate his patient. Gave me good tips and options for my pain
It is so important to engage a patient when he/she enters an office, the attitude of secretaries and Doctors show a lot about their practice.
Dr. Tyorkin was fine, however, he included my health insurance on his accepted health insurance list (GHI) on ZocDoc. Almost a year later, I received a bill and have been dealing with this bill for many months. I'm still not sure what the status is, but fortunately, ZocDoc helped facilitate communication. Since Dr. Tyorkin listed my insurance, he was required to cover me as an in network patient.
Overall, a very pleasant experience. Good bedside manner and patiently answered all of my questions!
He was relaxed but knowledgeable, available to answer my questions. His office arranged to have my leg brace delivered there so I didn't have to walk to them with my knee injury.
He was quick to see me and took the time to answer all my questions.
Dr Tyorkin was kind, competent and thorough and took time to listen and explain things without hurry in a caring and simple way
I felt like the doctor was in a rush. I was out in less than 10 minutes. I have a feeling that all they wanted was my co-pay and insurance info. I didn't interest them as a patient at all. I did not get the help I needed.
I had a sports knee swelling problem (bursitis w infection) and he figured out very quickly how to deal with it.
Was seen almost immediately, explained the issues with my knee, course of treatment. Highly recommend Dr. Tyorkin
I completed the forms on-line so that was plus thus the wait come had been longer. I was quite surprise how quickly I was able to make an appointment. At 9:30 pm, I made an appointment for the every next day at 10am; that was amazing. The doctor is bright, knowledgeable, and gave a comprehensive diagnosis. The receptionist was friendly, nice and efficient. The office was clean, roomy and airy. Well done, I found a doctor that I like.
Overall a good experience very nice and polite and took the time explain the problem with my son's knee...
went well the wait was to long tho.
He seemed very knowledgeable. I had simple case of tendinitis, but he was able to explain it to me. It was my first visit. I filled out the paperwork and was taken to a room right after I finished. Dr Tyorkin saw me no more than a couple minutes after being taken to the room. I would go back.
It was very nice
Great doc. Very knowledgeable.
Great doctor, very thorough and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
He was professional and offered good insight regarding my diagnosis. I would go back.
Overall it was a good visit, although the office was a bit dingy and his staff a bit rude. Copay: they only accept cash, so keep that in mind. I had to run out to the ATM, which was a bit annoying.
I like the overall atmosphere. Well the receptionist said. That she would schedule the appoinment for my MRI ! Still it's been 4 days I haven't heard from her! It's too early for me to comment ! Yea but I did have acupuncture treatment!
He is a awesome doctor.
Excellent Doctor. Very professional. Great bedside manners. Offered multiple treatment options. Very knowledgeable.
It felt like a very quick visit, but I felt like Dr Tyorkin was attentive and took care to diagnose me.
Good experience. Very clear and thorough. -J Harvey
I felt rushed and uncomfortable and felt like the Dr. wasnt listening. The front desk staff was nice.
I was very satisfied with my visit to Dr. Tyorkin, and his staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
It was good
He was great... no necessary procedures or treatment... was professional and honest...
Since you can checkin online, the waiting is very minimal. Dr. Tyorkin is professional and knowledgable, and asked a lot of questions before making his assessment.
Very professional bedside manners and straight to the point.
Extremely professional, understands that you are apprehensive about medical procedures, and puts you at ease. His staff is also very competent.
Doctor asked me very detailed questions about my injury. He communicated well and made me feel that he understood my issues. Wonderful bedside manner. Very professional and also very nice.
He took his time to explain my concern regarding my knee and ankle injury.
First time here, filled out the check in forms through zocdoc (saved me an extra step of paper work to fill out) Office is at an easy location, wasn't too crowded and the front desk people were cool. Doctor does have that plain personality like other reviews say, but he definitely doesn't give off any kind of vibe that he's rushing you or doesn't care. Very attentive and listens carefully so he can help you. Great experience.
He is experienced being a professional ortho surgeon. He is gentle and handles patient with compassion. Highly recommended.
I was very pleased with my visit at Dr. Tyorkin's office. The only reason why I had a wait at all was because I didn't fill out the paperwork online so I needed to do it in office. Dr Tyorkin examined my knee, and was very knowledgeable about my condition. He took the time to answer all of the questions I had. I would absolutely recommend him to others.
My impression of the visit was very positive and stress-free. Dr.Tyorkin seemed quite knowledgeable and proficient about his practice and he treated me with respect, friendliness, and genuine care.
My visit with the doctor was great. He was professional and explained everything very clearly. His receptionist, on the other hand, was extremely rude and addressed me in a belittling manner.
Straightforward, thoughtful and helpful.
Excellent answered all my questions :)
Office was jam packed, but wait time was about 20 minutes. Staff was very pleasant despite the amount of patients there (I am sure they were uber busy!). I was a bit apprehensive about visiting the doctor in the Bronx (I came from Astoria), but the experience was good and I would go back. Cash or check only, no credit cards (that was a bit odd for me), but hey, whatever works! Doctor was very nice, knows his stuff, examination was short but he seemed to know what he was doing. Prescribed PT, and it is working well, so I can't complain.
Was very helpfull his very professional
Thought Dr. Tyorkin was very thorough with his analysis and clear with his assessment. He took time to understand the situation and answered all my question. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Dr. Tyorkin is well knowledgeable and an experience doctor in the field of orthopedic surgery.
quick, efficient and patient.
Nice enough, though he could try to be slightly more friendly.
I was very satisfied, would comfortably refer Dr. Tyorkin to friends.
very good, professional, smart and easy to deal with.. Pleasant staff as well.
Doctor was very pleasant and corteous.
I feel confident that he can help me
The visit was great. The doctor was very professional and knowledgeable in knee and back problems. I would definitely recommend this doctor again.
not so much
It was great! I was very nervous about having ACL repair sugery in New York (I am from California), and after every pre and post surgery visit he made me feel so comfortable and relaxed about the whole process!
Great Staff!!! Caring Doctor!!!! 2 Thumbs up.
I had to pay the co-pay fee the moment I walked into the office and was greeted very rudely by the receptionist who simply handed me the 7 pages of paperwork on the clipboard. While there was hardly any wait time, the appointment felt very rushed and Dr. Tyorkin made me walk three feet on my heels and toes after which he automatically diagnosed be with plantar fascitis. The experience felt very bogus, and if I were more prepared, I would have had several questions for him. However, he simply didn't allow time to discuss the effects/solutions. All he was able to give me was a list of physical therapy locations and circle the ones closest to me. I think any professional orthopedic would made a recommendation and explained the effects of the conditions, offering solutions for easing physical pain and general recovery. For example, I know that drugstores sell braces for those suffering from plantar fascitis, but Dr. Tyorkin didn't take time to explain potential solutions. He simply rushed me out of his office with a list of places and didn't even have the decency to walk me out of the office. Overally, not a good experience. I am definitely seeking a second opinion.
I feel Dr. Tyorkin helped me with my problem. I was glad I went to see him.
Dr. Tyorkin was professional and answered all questions well.
Very smooth. He made it comfortable. I trusted in knowing that he knew what he was talking about, and we had an actual conversation about my injured knee. Very helpful, and the front office staff were also very professional and helpful.
This appointment was for my husband. He described the Doctor as straight forward and to the point, no nonsense or small talk. At the end of my husband’s visit Maxim Tyorkin, MD prescribed physical therapy, which to my husband was a good thing that no further action (other than therapy) was required. My husband would probably go back to visit this Doctor again.
Very. Comfortable and understanding
Very professional, I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment. Dr. Tyorkin was able to apply a cortisone injection after diagnosis and also provided follow-up exercises for my "tennis" elbow.
He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and efficient. I was under his care for a botched rotator cuff surgery and he was very helpful with my treatment and prognosis.
Not finished yet need follow up.
I was late, but still there was absolutely no problems. His staff was ecstatic and they just took care of everything right then and there, including making MRI appointment for me. Doctor himself was pretty understanding and he did take time to explain me what happened and what are the possible course of actions. answered every question I had. After MRI report I was able to talk to him on phone which saved me a lot of hassle. Overall I am gonna go back to him for any ortho issue again.
Staff was very gruff and lacked good bedside manner.
The office is spacious, clean and there are pleasant and friendly staff members. The Dr. Was very efficient and professional. He made me feel comforted in my painful state. It was a relief that he appeared to care about his patients. I want to thank him for being so caring and down to earth.
Stuffy office with pretentious check-in attendant. Didn't feel welcoming or inviting. I had very severe lower back pain and didn't need the attitude when I walked in.
Dr. Tyorkin was wonderful to say the least. Max made an effort to call the place where I had my MRI to have the report sent to him immediately (I couldn't even get the report myself when I tried) He gave me a thorough exam and even described to me, in detail, what he saw when when he looked at my MRI scan. He made it a point to find a physical therapist near my home and insisted a follow up if my swelling didn't improve after 2 weeks. It was comforting to know that I could come back to him if I still felt pain and discomfort when out of his care. I HIGHLY recommend printing out the forms for the office at home and filling it out before you even get to your appointment. It literally shaved 20 minutes off of my wait time (it's about 4-5 pages of health history and insurance information)
I went for a second opinion and he put my mind at ease.
Very satisfactory .. he listened and examined thoroughly and gave me a clear diagnosis. I was concerned about the risk of overtreatment, and my concern was unfounded.
Very professional and to the point. Answered my questions with ease and correctly diagnosed my problem, performed a procedure immediately and was helpful in the follow-up. I will definitely be going back with any future joint-related issues.
Dr Tyorkin is straight to the point and gives the solutions/suggestions to the problem. I highly recommed him. I had no wait time which was also great.
Dr. Tyorkin was kind, professional, and what I liked best of all, did not rush me for x-rays before he could even ask details about my complaints. He was incredibly thorough, respectful, and answered all questions I had with great professionalism. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Doctor very impersonal and seemed preoccupied. He would not return a phone call after receiving my MRI information, even though I called several times. I had to make a second appointment just for him to review my MRI results. He seemed knowledgeablle though, but I will not return to see him
Dr. Tyorkin is really attentive to ones needs. His diagnosis are usually spot on. His staff are professional yet pleasant.
The doctor was very and nice thorough. He explained how to improve my injury and gave me a few options. His office is very nice and clean. The co-pay options are only cash or check, no credit cards.
My visit was quick and pleasant
Excellent doctor, fast and easy to access;
Pretty eh all around; waited over an hour, was told I needed an MRI, and then pretty much left after that. Didn't receive any treatment advice (stay off it? Don't go to work? Should I get crutches?). So essentially, I went there for an MRI referral. That will be sent "Thursday ir Friday". With no MRI until next week. Blah.
He is good but was kinda hurry
Quite disappointing - little information about the extent of the injury, just a quick X-ray and a prescription for physical therapy. Was looking for more communication on what might be wrong, etc.
Doctor seem annoyed and reception was rude.
Great doctor. Would recommend.
Dr. Tyorkin was very helpful and down to earth. He knew exactly what the issue was and clearly explained to me how it happened and what I needed to do to get better. Lots of paperwork before seeing the doctor was only a slight negative. Overall, I'd highly recommend Dr. Tyorkin.
By the time I filled out my paperwork , it was time to go into exam room. The exam itself happened right away. I really liked the dr's explanation of my injury and have me my options
Professional. Wait time wasn't long. Took his time to explain and gave me time to ask questions. Will definitely recommend.
He was pretty cool. A level headed guy, straight shooter. Helped me to understand exactly what's wrong and what I need to do in order to take care of it properly.
Once again a terrific visit. Pleasant staff and no wait time to see the doctor or to have an xray. Dr. Tyorkin listens well, is friendly and efficient. Will definitely see him again if I have other sports injuries.
Doctor Tyorkin is very thorough he informed me of my condition and clarified the confusion that I had. He also dealt with the incompetence of my jobs disability department which I am grateful for. Despite being late he still saw me and did not rush me.
Hey was a very good doctor and I saw him right away, I just felt he had this additude of "why are you here wasting my time".
I great appreciate Dr Tyorkin. He was very informative.
Knows his stuff. Would have liked the opportunity to go into more detail. But, I did make the appointment last minute, and he still fit me in, so no complaints!
I did not feel listened to or understood. I told him about my injury, and then he moved my leg in a way that hurt very much, and was obviously not a good idea, knowing what my injury was. When I flinched, he did not even apologize. He was confused about why it hurt. I also did not get much information from him until I asked specific questions. I would like to be told a plan for recovery without having to ask about every step.
He has a beautiful office and x-rays can be taken right on site. He's thorough in his explanations and takes his time with you. He seems a little dry but I guess that's just his personality. Overall I think he was good. He also sent me night splints immediately for my foot problems which I think was great. I am expecting to see how my experience will be with his staff regarding paperwork so hopefully it's a positive one.
Dr. Tyorkin was very assertive and detailed on my specific knee issue and solving my concerns. Very clear on his explanation and dedicated a considerable amount of time checking me up. This is what I was looking on a professional Dr.'s appointment. I like to feel that a specialist is actually looking into my problem and gives advice based on deep analysis of the MRI results.
Very professional office and the Dr made good recommendations for physical therapists near my work place. Also, the Dr explained in detail his diagnosis and show me a model of a shoulder so I could understand, and gave me printouts for recovery exercises at home. I am a type A personality and he checked all the boxes I wanted to see checked.
Professional. Quick. Polite.
He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and I didn't feel rushed during my appointment. He was very good.
Very personable and knowledgable. Office is run efficiently. Very satisfied.
He was very nice and recommended another colleague of his for me to see (he doesn't deal with my specific issue).
Great doctor. Office staff very professional.
Excellent experience. Friendly, warm staff, thoughtful and kind doctor, thorough exam before diagnosis, very pleasant and helpful experience! Highly recommend this doctor!
Clear, pAtient explanation that gave me confidence he knows what he is doing.
Dr. Tyorkin was very professional and helpful. His staff was friendly and extremely efficient.
The doctor was pleasant, didnt look at me at first when introducing hisself. I wish he offered more supportive care, ie wrapped my injury etc. Reception staff nice and approachable. I would visit again if needed.
Dr. Tyorkin was very professional. He was able to diagnose my problem quickly and was clear about the treatment. Highly recommended
The wait was about 30 minutes. I found him to be very professional and honest. I have no hesitation recommending him or visiting him again for any problems relating to his specialty.
Excellent, very professional, excellent service. I would go back again, if need be, in the future.
Very pleased. His physical exam and questions indicated he was looking to find the cause of my pain and not just mask the symptoms. Convenient and time saving to have x-rays taken immediately. Dr. Tyorkin answered all of my questions and clearly explained the options for immediate and long term treatment. I would definitely use him again.
Short and to the point. He was thorough, but got me out of there quickly and on to the next step.
Very professional. The appointment was right on time and efficient. I did not feel rushed.
The doctor made me feel right at home as well as his staff. Definitely would recommend him to others.
Very personable and professional, explained the diagnosis clearly, had a clear plan of action. Office was very clean, staff was friendly.
Liked the dr. and the staff.
Was very thorough. Gave me options that made sense for what I could afford (i.e. ultra sound vs MRI).
very good and professional experience
I had an early appointment, so the wait was not bad. Dr. Tyorkin was very professional and thorough. I was coming to him for a second opinion on something and he listened very carefully to what my other doctor had said, as well as my concerns about treatment. He answered all of my questions and I left feeling comfortable with my diagnosis and treatment plan.
Very knowledgeable and friendly. The staff was very nice too.
It was very easy and pretty quick and everyone was nice but I wish I had know the office only accepts cash or checks when paying the co-pay.
Very thorough follow-up visit. Unrushed, detailed review of results and recommendations for treatment.
Was ok. Bit of a wait to see the doc and the exam was really short.
Smart, good doctor. Had a 35 minute wait time but was worth it.
Stuff is not very friendly. Doctor not very welcoming. Overall just OK.
Dr. Tyorkin is one of the best doctors I have ever met. If you're looking for a doctors with his specialties, I would advise you to schedule an appointment NOW!
Very helpful, professional, and well-versed in the field. Also makes one feel comfortable and at ease.
Dr. Tyorkin was able to diagnosis my problem within a matter of minutes. He has guided me with information and resources including therapy to resolve my issue. Dr. Tyorkin is one of the nicest physicians I have ever met.
Dr. Maxim is sharp and he was able to quickly give me a diagnosis about my rib injury. Friendly staff. Short and quick appointment.
He's very easy to talk to and explains situation thoroughly. Makes sure you understand and all your questions are answered.
Already recommended him to a friend. Enough said :)
Very knowledgeable Excellent office staff
Dr. Tyorkin is professional and his staff is friendly and organized. I didn't need to wait long to get an appointment or be seen on the day of my appointment, and Dr. Tyorkin took time to answer all of my questions.
Dr. Tyorkin was very friendly and knowledgeable.
He's amiable and mild-mannered. Doesn't try to sell you anything or expensive/invasive treatments. The office is also very clean and nice.
Got very professional advice and help.
It was nice not having to wait. The offices are very nice and everything moved along rather quickly
It was the first visit the girls were very helpful at the desk with any questions. didnt wait long. Dr. Tyorkin was very nice and to the point. no complaints at all
The entire staff was professional and the Doctor took time to explain everything and listen to my concerns.
Dr. Tyorkin listened. He was attentive to my concerns and answered all of my questions in a friendly and professional manner. Patients should note however that the Park Avenue office accepts only CASH OR CHECK for payment. No credit/debit or FSA cards are accepted.
Very thorough- I was x rayed in house, well taken care of.
nice very professional.
Very nice, professinal doctor with good maner! I highly recommend him!
The dr. was really helpful, the staff was nice and there was no wait time. In one hour i saw the dr, got physical therapy, acupuncture , and got a referral for an MRI. I picked this dr bc of the reviews and i was very satisfied.
Efficient, knowledgeable, warm-you couldn't ask for more.
I had a good visit. Dr. Maxim Tyorkin was very pleasant and gave me the referrals for the tests which would enable him to accurately diagnose my problem.
He is very attentive and listening. Very professional.
This appointment was for my daughter, and she enjoyed it. I was there the entire time and it was fast and with great end results. I liked that the office has their own xray room where the results are instant. This is a plus.
Appreciated that he took time to hear me out on my current and related injuries. Explained symptoms, causes, and recommended forward action/options with patience. Often, I feel rushed by medical professionals who are quick to write a 'script and move on to the next patient---that was not the case with Dr. Tyorkin. Note: Office co pay accepts cash or checks. No Credit Cards
Dr Tyorkin was very nice. I came in and was seen within 15 minutes after filling out some new patient paper work. An x-ray was taken and he looked it over all within 15 minutes. Fast and easy appointment.
1. Very competent, efficient and knowledgeable.2. Accepted my insurance and I was able to make appointment on the internet!! Satisfied with choice and recommendations!
Highly recommended! Friendly and very knowledgeable.
The doctor was very nice and professional. He knew what he was talking about. I have already recommended him to a co-worker for a similar shoulder issue.
Although I have not yet had an MRI, the initial office visit and recommendations made by the doctor went well. I am pleased with the visit.
I found him to be knowledgable, pleasant and with a great bedside manner, I would highly recommend Dr. Tyorkin. He gave me treatment options and great advice, too.
Staff was friendly and helpful. There were some forms to fill out because I was a first time patient, but I was able to see the doctor right after I completed them.
It was a good experience in there, staff was friendly and helpful, the doctor is very professional.
appointment is very easy to get. Doctor is very knowledgeable and helped me with my back and knee pain.
I came to the office and doctor saw me after 5 minutes. Very nice doctor, friendly and competence.
Dr. Tyorkin was knowledgeable and helpful. He asked good questions, made a precise diagnosis and gave me good advice about treatment and rehabilitation.
Tyorkin couldn't wait to get out from the moment I came in and was seen. Would not go back or recommend. I had to ask him all the questions and tell him what my other doctors said for him to make an opinion! Doc was not interested in treating or helping at all.
he was really lovely and attentive.
Saw the doctor for less than 5 minutes, whereupon he simply told me I needed another test done(which I already knew). It was a waste of money and time.
i think he directed me in the right direction for my concerns.
He was great his office is great the staff are a little pushy but good and I was in and out in an hr. i would send my mother to him. Thanks zoc doc
Great staff. Nice facilities!
I visited Maxim for a brief consultation regarding my separated shoulder. He provided advice on next steps. It is difficult to indicate from a brief visit whether he is a great doctor but I had a good initial experience. He took the time to make sure all of my questions were answered.
always helpful, answers questions, accommodating with scheduling, nice location
Dr Tyorkin's office staff are well orginized, friendly and efficient..the office is conveniently located and very clean.
Very helpful and professional.
Friendly, saw me right away, and was able to give me a proper diagnosis in no time. It was nice that they had no issue with scheduling via ZocDoc given that I scheduled it very short notice on the weekend.
Maxim Tyorkin is very doctor.
It has been an excellent experience. Thanks Daniel Brack
I had to reschedule on the morning of my appointment and was able to do so without any problems via the zocdoc website. Highly recommended.
He was thorough, responsive, understanding and patient. I was extremely satisfied with the care I received.
I just had my first visit to the doctor. Based on my first impression, Doc was nice and listened to my issues. He didn't rush me in a NY minute like most Doc in NYC do.
He is a very good listener and explained my issue and his actions very well.
dr tyorkin was very attentive and very helpful. I would recommend him to my friends if in need. His staff was very nice.
He was very professional and corteous. He listned and then made a decision on what to do next. I recommend him for anyone that needs Orthopedic advice.
I have a strong dislike for doctors, however, I feel very comfortable with Dr. Tyorkin. He is straight to the point and very pleasant with his delivery. I would recommend his service to the person closest to me. If you go with Dr. Tyorkin, you will not regret it!
A very professional and attentive doctor. Well organized office. Highly recommend.
Informative, informational, thorough and polite....got excellent care and referred me to specialists as needed.
The wait was about a half an hour... that because there were three or four people ahead of me, so that's understanding! Dr. Tyorkin and staff treated me like a patient who is in need of help! They were very professional!
It was great. very friendly and easy to talk to. I will definitely be returning.
Dr. Tyorkin was great. He made me feel as ease from the get go. I did not have to wait long and was able to get x-rays done in the office as well. I would definitely recommend.
I picked Dr. Tyorkin after reading reviews on ZocDoc and I wasn't disappointed. I only had to wait half an hour. The PA, Eleanora, was very nice and had a good bedside manner along with the Dr. I felt like he spent enough time with me and answered all of my questions so that I didn't feel rushed out of there.
Dr. Tyorkin was very nice. Great bedside manner. He quickly diagnosed the porblem and made the whole visit very quick.
I made an appointment with Dr. Tyorkin on behalf of my wife, who was experiencing increasingly severe pain in her shoulder. She is extremely nervous about going to doctors in general, which makes it all the more meaningful that she found Dr. Tyorkin to be so kind, patient, gentle and thorough. He quickly and accurately diagnosed her problem (excessive calcification in her rotator cuff), carefully explained his initial course of pain management and, when the problem did not spontaneously resolve (as such problems sometimes do), quickly scheduled and performed surgery that was as relatively painless as it was successful. Prior to, during, and subsequent to the day of surgery, Dr. Tyorkin made himself exceptionally available (even on the weekend) to patiently answer all of our questions and allay our concerns. Simply put, Dr. Tyorkin is one of the best doctors either of us has ever had. All orthopedic patients should be lucky enough to work with professionals as kind, skillful and empathic as Dr. Tyorkin. We are enormously grateful to him.
The doctor was very helpful and gave me a detailed explanation for his diagnostic and prescription. I particularly liked that he apologized for not being available in a previous appointment due to an emergency; as well as the fact that he really made sure I understood the prognosis and required treatment.
I appreciated his caution in recommending additional cortisone injections. My previous doctor wanted to go that route. Very prompt service. The office staff should notify first time patients upon appointment confirmation that only cash/check is accepted. They are not willing to bend this policy even for the unaware.
He gave me excellent care and I would recommend him to others..
HE WAS VERY NICE & RESPECTFULL
The doctor explained everything to me and did a thorough exam. He was personable. I did not wait but I was the first appointment of the day
The office is right on park avenue so the interior is relaxing, clean, and spacious. Immediately after I filled out all the paperwork, I was taken to one of the exam rooms where Dr. Tyorkin came in probably 5 mins after. Quick but attentive (very good when you need to make your visit efficient during work hours) and listened to my concerns- he did not give the impression that he was thinking of his next patient which is too common these days with doctors. It's also great that they have another office conveniently located in Forest Hills.
Very professional. Took time to answer questions and did not rush through the appointment. Would definitely recommend.
He was very professional and he is concern about his patients.
Very Good...Took the time to explain things, would definitely recommend.
I was satisfied by everything when I attended Dr. Tuorkin's office. Courtesy of staff, expertise of the doctor, almost immediate take in, easy-to-find location-this is just the facts that I would recommend to everybody to make to an appointment to consult with this doctor.
It was my first visit to this doctor for knee & hip pain that has a long history. He was thorough in his questioning to get all the background information and examination. He seemed knowledgable and set forth a course of action that includes physical therapy and not surgery. I've experienced surgeons who are so single focused and prescribe surgery right away. He was not like this which I really appreciated. In addition, he seems like a positive and balanced thinker. He gave me his thoughts on running and it was NOT doom and gloom, which I've had other doctors do.
Dr. Tyorkin is quite knowledgeable and was helpful in diagnosing my knee problem. Additionally, he was great at trying to find me a convenient PT location. Only knock was the 40+ minute wait although I had an appointment.
I had a perfect visit with Dr. Tyorkin - no complaints whatsoever. I definitely recommend to future patients.
Had a great appointment today -- everyone in the office was very friendly and I was seen quickly. Dr. Tyorkin was helpful and knowledgeable.
Very nice person, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to.
although having to wait for over an hour once I did see Dr. Tyorkin he was very quick to apologies for the wait and said they were down staff due to the holiday. However, he was very nice, willing to explain information in detail, and I would certainly recommend.
I scheduled a visit with Dr. Tyorkin when my father was having foot pain. Ultimately, Dr. Tyorkin was not the right doctor for him (different problem than his specialty). He seemed a bit impatient with my father (who is not a native english speaker) and kind of rushed through the appointment, yet there was no one else in the waiting room. Off the record, he is gorgeous.
thorough and pleasant and professional
Professional, straightforward, clear and concise.
The doctor was very nice and able to help me. However, I waited a very long time in a very crowded office.
Great, honest and caring doctor
It's too early to tell about the diagnosis -- I just saw him this afternoon -- but overall I was very satisfied with my visit. I was desperate with ankle pain, and it wasn't serious enough for the ER, and I wanted to see someone right away. This site is a good one; I got an appointment for the next day -- almost unheard of in New York City.
