About Dr. Maxim Tyorkin

As a trained specialist in sports medicine and arthroscopy, I treat a myriad of shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, and ankle injuries. Specific rehabilitation for these injuries and disorders is prescribed and supervised by me as the treating physician. Most injuries can be treated non-operatively, but when surgery is necessary, arthroscopic small incision techniques are generally utilized. These techniques allow for quicker recovery, less pain, and improved cosmesis. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I completed my internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Additionally, I pursued a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys. Before implementing a treatment plan, I believe patients should be fully educated about their condition so they may participate in the decision-making process. Each patient has different functional demands and lifestyle expectations, and treatment should be tailored to meet each individual's needs. When surgical treatment is indicated, I take the time to explain the risks and benefits of surgery to each patient. It is very important for the patient to understand the details of the rehabilitation process, as well as the expected outcome after surgery. **PLEASE NOTE THE OFFICE DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS**
