Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I saw Dr Zhou for ADHD medication management. She refused to prescribe the medication I've been on all year and recommended in-person care due to history of depression, even though I only have mild SAD and the last time I had suicidal thoughts was literal years ago and due to temporary crisis. I mentioned that I can't see someone in person due to disability, which is why I'm on a virtual platform, at which point she said she would alert her supervisors at Talkiatry not to treat me because it's too "risky" to see someone with a history of depression virtually. Why are you even on a virtual platform if you don't believe in virtual care?

This doctor rejected help and told the company that no one can see me because I told her that my only concern with medication is that in the next five years I’d like to have children. She responded that she wouldn’t be a good fit for my mental health and then I would need to go to a prenatal psychiatrist. I’m 28. Not married. Not looking to have children in the near future. I thought it was a safe space to talk about future concerns. She was not helpful, as if she wanted to pass me along. High recommend going to someone else. Spoke to manager on phone, she was in disbelief.

Dr Zhou made me feel like I was heard during my initial appointment. She asked a lot of great questions to help determine where I fell on the ADHD spectrum and found another disorder that went undiagnosed. I had suspected I had another but it was great to have a name for it. I felt completely comfortable telling her all of my struggles and never once did she make me feel belittled or lessor. She really made it clear she wants to help and she was in my corner. I look forward to my follow-ups with her.
