About Mei Ki Hung

Dr. Hung (DAC, LAC.) graduated from The University of Hong Kong-one of the top universities in Asia-with a 5 year Bachelor of Chinese Medicine, which equates to a Master's degree in the United States (WES). Her degree provided her with a solid foundation in Chinese and Western medicine. She then participated in medical research projects on breast cancer with the University of Hong Kong and on liver, pancreatic, and gallbladder cancer with the Queen Mary Hospital Department of Surgery. She became proficient in reading and interpreting patients' clinical, imaging, and lab-test reports, and she developed a strong sensitivity for safe medical practices. After she became licensed and practiced acupuncture and Chinese medicine in hospital and clinical settings in Hong Kong for several years, she pursued further study in the United States. She attended the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, where she earned her doctoral degree in Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine specialization. Her degree helped her advance her knowledge and practical skills. She passed the NCCAOM Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Chinese Herbology, Acupuncture, and Biomedicine exams, the CCAOM Clean Needle Technique exam, and the Texas Jurisprudence exam, and she became licensed under the Texas Medical Board as a licensed acupuncturist (LAC). Dr Hung's clinical practice in Hong Kong and the United States has included acupuncture, herbal-medicine prescription, moxibustion, cupping, and Sanfutie and has covered Chinese medicine practice in traumatology & orthopedics, internal medicine, dermatology, gynecology, pediatrics, neurology, and oncology. She is equipped with knowledge in Oriental and Integrative medicine, Western medicine, and nutrition application, medical interprofessional collaboration, and an understanding of navigating the U.S. medical system to provide accurate diagnoses and effective, safe treatment that is beneficial to patients.
