Dr. Pointer earned her Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University. She completed an internship in Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, followed by a residency in General Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She currently treats young to middle-aged adult patients, addressing a variety of mental illnesses such as ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Pointer has worked extensively with patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds across several mental healthcare facilities throughout the Atlanta metro area. She also has experience treating patients in Pennsylvania and Georgia via telemedicine, which has allowed her to provide care to areas facing shortages of mental health services. Using a holistic approach, Dr. Pointer combines medications and psychotherapy to tailor treatment plans to each individual patient. She is dedicated to educating and empowering her patients to become their best selves.

I have been a patient with Dr. Pointer for years. She listens. She cares and she tries to help develop a plan for my mental? health success. Just being able to see her once a month is enough to feel like somebody cares and someone is out there to help me.
I highly recommend her. Honestly, if you have mental health problems like I do, she will help you change your life, give her a try.
Unfortunately, mental health illnesses never go away. This is a doctor that has helped diagnose me, and has stuck with me through all of my struggles
