She earned a bachelor and master’s degree from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville and then completed a post master’s certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at The Ohio State University. She has 40 years of experience in healthcare and over 8 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the outpatient, day treatment, school, and residential settings. Melinda’s goal is to promote wellness and healing in a manner that honors individual life experiences and involves the patient and caregiver when appropriate in treatment planning and intervention. She weaves evidenced-based treatment recommendations into a holistic approach to help patients overcome mental health stigmas, embrace recovery, and strive for wellness and improved daily functioning. In her spare time, Melinda enjoys spending time with family and friends, spiritual advancement, and her pets. Melinda appreciates the opportunity to help you.

Excellent care. I was taken right in and my problems have thankfully been resolved. They were able to reschedule quickly and were very thorough. I highly recommend them. Update: a few months down the road and continuity of care and thoughtfulness are ongoing, this is really what I had been trying to find in the past without success. Easy to work with. Very grateful.
Melinda Kiser is an excellent psychiatrist. I’m a new patient. I appreciate her taking the time to ask me a bunch of thoughtout and random questions to get to know me and my dx. I plan on following her treatment plan and am hopeful the results will be what I need at this time in my life.
Visit was good and helpful, however, my prescription hasn’t been sent over to the pharmacy, and isn’t clear when I’ll get it, which is the reason for the one star. I’ll update my review once I get the prescription. Otherwise liked the office, just need a more efficient way of getting prescriptions sent to pharmacies. Edit: got the prescription after a day or so. Had second follow-up and appreciate the nurse continually reviewing my prescription doses to determine if it’s right for me.
