Dr. Houlihan is the Chief Medical Officer for Family Hearing Center and oversees a very talented staff of hearing care providers. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Nazareth University in 2009 and her Clinical Doctorate of Audiology from Northeastern University in 2013. Dr. Houlihan was born with moderate nerve hearing loss in her left ear. She was exposed to the field of audiology by being a patient herself. Now, she loves being able to connect with people and listening to their communication difficulties. Providing someone a tangible solution (hearing aids) and seeing the positive effects it has on their quality of life is extremely rewarding. She has experience providing comprehensive hearing evaluations for patients of all ages, fitting hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and performing diagnostic balance tests for patients suffering from vertigo/disequilibrium.
