Memphis Sandoval, APRN

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
HI
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a special focus on perinatal mental health. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for adults and individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I believe mental health care is most effective when it honors not only the individual but the family and support system surrounding them. I am deeply passionate about supporting women and families through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. These transitions can bring joy, uncertainty, and emotional challenges for parents and caregivers alike. My clinical focus includes perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), postpartum depression and anxiety, emotional adjustment to pregnancy and birth, and healing from birth trauma or unexpected experiences. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where families feel comfortable sharing their concerns and experiences. My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and family-centered. I work closely with clients—and when appropriate, their partners or loved ones—to develop treatment plans that reflect each family’s values, strengths, and goals. I emphasize education, open communication, and shared decision-making so families feel informed and supported throughout the treatment process. I also value collaboration with therapists, obstetric providers, pediatricians, and other community partners to ensure coordinated, holistic care. My goal is to help families feel more connected, confident, and supported as they navigate mental health challenges and life transitions. I am committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and to supporting emotional well-being across all stages of family life, especially during the perinatal period.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use person-centered medication management and psychotherapy to offer a caring, nonjudgmental space where your experiences are valued. Together, we explore your emotions, clarify your goals, and develop strategies to cope and grow, helping you build resilience, self-understanding, and confidence in your mental health journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you come to an initial psychiatric evaluation with me, you can expect a thoughtful, compassionate, and comprehensive assessment. I take the time to understand your full story, relevant history, and carefully evaluate your symptoms, and engage in open dialogue about your concerns. Together, we discuss diagnoses and identify meaningful treatment goals. I believe every person’s experience is unique, and providing culturally sensitive, respectful care is a priority in my work. I focus on education and collaboration, giving clients the tools to feel informed, empowered, and hopeful about their treatment. I strive to create a stigma-free space where you can feel safe, seen, and free to be yourself.
