About Dr. Michael Albrecht
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE PRIOR TO SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT:
1. Please note that Dr. Albrecht is a primary care and weight management physician who treats adults age 18 and older and is not a specialist. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Clinical Informatics. Dr. Albrecht practices in Lansing, KS which is located on the northwest side of the Kansas City metro. The name of his practice, which he founded in July 2025, is BrightMed Clinic.
2. BrightMed Clinic does not accept Medicaid, including Medicaid plans administered through commercial carriers (e.g., United Healthcare Medicaid plans, Healthy Blue/Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid Plans). We are also not in-network with Ambetter plans. Please contact our office if you are unsure whether your insurance is in-network.
3. If you schedule with our practice and then do not show up for your appointment, YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $50 NO SHOW FEE. However, if you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance, you will not be charged this fee. We have to reserve appointment slots for patients who actually will be seen that day. Thank you for your understanding!
4. Please also note that we are a practice physically located in the state of Kansas. WE DO NOT PRESCRIBE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACROSS STATE LINES OR VIA TELEHEALTH VIDEO VISITS.

I didn’t mind going to the telehelp visit over the phone the first time and second.The waiting for the link is hard it takes about 20 minutes to get it going… but it’s better than being late to an appointment.Heis also very thourow he’s an internist.I needed a muscle relaxer but he wouldn’t perscribe me one.Hes really seems to b a good dr.. he ordered a bunch of tests that I’ve been due for along time send it. Privacy.

Was very quick to sign me up for a mammogram,another test and lots of different labs to go to.He refused to fill my nonnarcotic muscle relaxers or give me a script for a new one instead .He claimed all muscle relaxers only work for 7 days.The one I take helps my pain I’ve taken it for 5 years.So now I’m in more pain and miserable..He doesn’t perscribe anything narcotic even though he has a licence to do so.or even non narcotic muscle relaxers.Im tired of Drs who aren’t helping people be out of pain.He was nice and thorough.

Dr Alberct was an outstanding doctor who showed sincerity in his caring about what was going on with me, not just medically for my condition but he showed sincere interest in listening to what was going on in my life and how it affected me more than likely I'm sure he felt that it all had an effect in my physical well-being. He was kind, never cut me off in my long explanations of things and was very obviously and excellent and well-trained doctor, MD, a true MD! His advice and prescribed medications were true to point and he knew exactly what I was describing and talking about and his line of expertise in as far as what I was going to need for therapeutic treatments was right on track. He was kind, knowledgeable and never made me feel belittled.

I have struggled to find a physician that would assist me in trying to get the correct referrals to address issues I’ve dealt with for years. Dr. Albrecht listened and called other facilities himself to confirm coverage and ensure that we followed the proper referral process. Highly recommend!
