Michael Billock, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
OH
I am a board certified mental health nurse practitioner with 2 years of experience. I graduated with my master's degree from Kent States University in the Spring of 2021. The majority of my experience has been in outpatient community mental health seeing clients for individual outpatient appointments and managing medications and treatments. Diagnostic experience ranges from depression, anxiety and ADHD to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Prior to becoming a mental health NP, I worked as an RN for about 12 years in the ICU of a level 1 trauma center. I also received various training in mental health components during that time. Having this mix of training, education and experience allows me to better look at the whole picture when treating you, seeing both the medical and psychological aspects of treatment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session we will cover the basics of your concerns and will work to collect the information needed to make a proper diagnosis and individualized treatment plan. We will work on education of diagnoses and symptoms as well as medications. In follow up appointments we will work to assess function of our plan through symptom management and overall effectiveness and well being. This is where we will make adjustments or changes as needed. It is important to me that you realize that I am NOT a provider who tells you what has to be done. I believe that you are in charge of your health and treatment goals. I am here to educate and suggest treatment options based on clinical data and resources, and I believe in individualized treatment planning specific to your unique needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
