About Dr. Michael Chandler
Dr. Michael J. Chandler is board certified in allergy-immunology and internal medicine and holds a faculty appointment at the Weill Cornell Medical College and has been practicing in New York City since 1986. Dr. Chandler sees patients with a wide variety of allergic problems, including drug allergy, but the main focus of his practice includes the diagnosis and management of chronic sinusitis, asthma and cough.
Dr. Chandler is a native of Michigan and completed his Undergraduate studies at The University of Michigan and his medical studies at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He went on to train in internal medicine and allergy-immunology at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He is currently affiliated with the Weill Cornell Medical School and is a member of the attending staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He has been recognized by national publications as one of the top allergy-immunology specialists in the city and the nation.
In the aftermath of Covid-19, Dr. Chandler has broadened the range of respiratory evaluations he performs to include sophisticated breathing tests and lung function tests intended to diagnose conditions of the lung experience by those who have recovered from Covid-19 infection. Most of these long haulers complain of shortness of breath or persistent cough.

Dr. Chandler is sharp and no doubt an expert. However I'm giving 3 stars because he is a poor communicator and seems to be a one trick pony, with his eczema gel + antibiotic saline rinse as his magic trick to improve the condition of nasal polyps. No doubt its an effective remedy, but it seems that if one ventures beyond that specific diagnosis he unfortunately cannot help. And to be fair this might just be about expectations, after all he is an expert on nasal polyps.

Dr Chandler's special expertise is nasal and sinus problems. He treats these issues with both high tech equipment and practical advice and treatments. In the past I have not found allergists helpful but I found a welcome difference with Dr Chandler.

Dr. Chandler is an excellant doctor. I was having chronic sinus infections & constantly on antibiotics. My internist recommended Dr. Chandler. Dr. Chandler got right to the bottom of my problem & now I am getting 1 or no sinus infections a year! My life is so much better now. I feel normal again. Thank you Dr. Chandler!

Dr. Chandler has been my ENT doctor for over 15 years. He is extremely knowledable, caring and has treated my severe asthma and allergies in the best way to make me feel better asap. His staff treats me like family and is always flexible with timing.

I have been seeing Dr. Chandler for over 7 years. I moved out of NYC 3 years ago but still make the trip because I am so happy with my care from both the doctor & his staff. Everyone is extremely knowledgable, friendly & accomodating. My sinus health & asthma has also come a long way. I recomend Dr. Chandler to everyone!
