Getting to know Michael Grimme
I have thirty years of experience in the mental health field. For the past three years, I have been certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My preferred approach to healthcare is person-centered planning, and I believe in using a holistic team approach to help patients achieve their mental health goals.
My approach to providing mental healthcare is centered around the individual. Together with the patient, we will strive to reach your client-driven goals through a holistic approach that integrates medication management with behavioral, cognitive, and supportive therapies.
My experience in healthcare includes the treatment of addiction, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. I also have experience working with diagnoses of PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar depression, and cognitive impairment.
I believe in creating therapy sessions that foster safe and open sharing. I strive to maintain a nonjudgmental and positive atmosphere characterized by casual and open dialogue. I would describe myself as a laid-back and attentive listener who is also supportive in motivating desired change by providing positive feedback and therapeutic suggestions.
Both personally and professionally, I have navigated the complexities of addiction and mental health challenges. This journey has instilled in me a deep and passionate desire to help others overcome their own life problems and difficulties. I believe that everyone, at some point, could and would benefit from help and support during challenging life experiences. Please know that there is always hope for a brighter future.
During our initial sessions, we will discuss any existing problems and concerns, review your history, as well as current and past medications. Together, we will identify your desired goals, the initial steps and strategies to achieve them, and the timeframes you envision for this progress. We will also make any necessary medication adjustments.
