“Michael is FANTASTIC! I've been getting acupuncture treatments for 3+ years. It was hard finding the right acupuncturist who understands you and care about your concern. I tried acupuncture with Michael for the first in 2021 at the Aligned Modern Health in South Loop. I went in with a severe neck and shoulder tightness. I would get a headache every now and then. After just one treatment, my body felt like a load was lifted off. Since then, I have been coming to see Michael 2-3 times a week on a regular basis. He's an amazing at acupuncturist! I usually fall asleep right away while he puts needles on my back -- no pain at all! He's also wonderful at massages and cupping to unwind muscle knots and puts you back in alignment. I have been very impressed with Michael and his bedside manner. He consistently makes sure that he understands your concern and talk you through treatments that are most suitable for you. Michael is personable, caring, methodical and professional. He takes pride in what he does and he cares about his patients! What more could you ask for! Highly recommended!!”

About Michael Jamlang

Michael is a graduate of Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, where he earned his Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is a licensed Acupuncturist and NCCAOM-certified practitioner of Oriental Medicine. After graduation, Michael gained experience in various specialist clinics to broaden his understanding. He has practiced orthopedic and oncologic acupuncture rehabilitation at Mercy Hospital, treated fertility patients at the Gynecology Institute of Chicago, and addressed musculoskeletal pain and stress in several community-style clinics in Chicago, including Lincoln Square Community Acupuncture. Michael began practicing acupuncture in 2009 but has been treating pain since 2002 as a licensed massage therapist. He draws heavily from his massage therapy background in his acupuncture practice, where most sessions include bodywork and posture/ergonomic recommendations to support patient progress. While musculoskeletal pain, stress, gynecologic, and gastrointestinal issues have made up much of Michael's practice, he holds a strong interest in treating autoimmune diseases and chronic lifelong conditions. He actively pursues continuing education and is completing a Doctorate in Oriental Medicine to deepen his expertise in these areas. Michael truly believes in the concept of multi-modality, holistic medicine, where in-clinic acupuncture treatments serve as a powerful functional component in a patient's journey toward better health. He welcomes and actively collaborates with other practitioners' ongoing treatments to support patient progress.

Doing these sessions really helped me with my fertility journey. Micheal was great and the atmosphere was super relaxing and pleasant.
Mike was extremely attentive, listened to my concerns and worked with my care team (currently at Aligned modern health) to create a plan to help relieve my pain. I knew acupuncture has scientific evidence for help with pain relief, but what I appreciated most about his style was blending techniques to find what worked best for my body and pain. I’m about 6 weeks into treatment after dislocating my shoulder and my pain is not just manageable but minimal. He experimented with traditional methods and newer techniques such as cupping and estim. It was this blend that really made the treatment innovative and customized!
I have been treated by Michael for the past six weeks and he is awesome. I have been doing acunpulture and cupping with him, and the treatments are definitely helping my back pain. Michael is very patient, easy to talk to and knowledgeble. I highly recommend him. I will definitely continue my treatment with him.

I can not say enough great things about Dr. Michael Jamlang. During our first session, Dr. Jamlang patiently listened to me as I outlined a long laundry list of evolving health challenges that I have experienced over the past five years. Drastically different from the 15 minute visits that I am accustomed to having with my general practitioner, Dr. Jamlang did not minimize my concerns but helped me to understand the possible connectivity of the alignments that I was experiencing. Each session entails a short discussion, acupuncture, body work, and cupping. At the end of each session I truly feel more energized, present, and relaxed than when I entered his office. Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! Very happy with my treatment and experience with Michael. I have was having lower back pain for about 4-5 months and was getting help from a different chiropractor and it was not really getting better. After two treatments he completely fixed it! I was amazed! Also I am a big runner and am currently training for some ultra marathons, and he helped tremendously with my plantar fasciitis. I was at the point where I thought I would have to hang up my shoes and postpone training but not the case after seeing Michael. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

I’ve seen several acupuncture doctors over the years and Mike is hands down the best. He is attentive, thorough, and truly cares. Most docs I’ve seen in the past have thrown some needles and let me sit for god knows how long. Mike does NOT do this....he checks on you several times, will work several different areas of concern in one session and LISTENS to what you need! I’ve never had to wait on him....in particular once you are in the room waiting for treatment. I’ve had doctors say they’d be “right back” and came back 20 minutes later. Not Mike, he provides an indicator to tell him when you are ready and he’s in there moments later. I can’t say enough good things about him or acupuncture in general. I am very athletic and constantly have tight, sore muscles. Most people want to get massages for this which, don’t get me wrong, feel great, but do not really do much. This feels great AND works. I challenge you to try it instead of a massage, especially w Mike as he incorporates some of that work to help him find tight areas. You won’t regret!!

I've been seeing Michael for about 6 months for acupuncture and to treat my migraines. I recently started seeing him at Aligned in the South Loop.
