About Dr. Michael Perrone
Dr. Michael Perrone is an Orthopaedic Sports Surgeon specializing in injuries of the Knee, Ankle, and Foot.
Michael Perrone, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with dual-fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr. Perrone and his team serve patients throughout Los Angeles County, with offices in East Los Angeles, DTLA-Wilshire and Santa Fe Springs.
Originally from New York, Dr. Perrone completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Health Science and Master’s in Public Health with a concentration on public health policy and administration. He then moved on to the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He graduated in 2014 and earned election into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Perrone completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago in Illinois in 2019.
Dr. Perrone completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship in 2020 at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles, California. While there, he served as an associate team physician for several professional and collegiate teams, including the LA Galaxy, the USC Trojans Men’s Football Team, and the Anaheim Ducks. He then received specialized training in sports foot & ankle and trauma at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado. There, Dr. Perrone had the opportunity to serve as an associate team physician for the United States Ski & Snowboard Team – a role he still maintains today.
Dr. Perrone is a committee member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS).

Dr. Perone is not in it for the money. I was in an accident overseas and was worried an American doctor would insist upon surgery- he was patient and understanding. Clearly cared about me getting better over his bottom line. But he seems to be a skilled operator too, I would see him for surgery in the future. He also did not over prescribe pain killers, a common issue in healthcare these days.

No, I would not go to this office. I needed an opinion as I had a total knee replacement and he didn’t want to take the time to do it, but referred me to one of his partners was not in the office. I am in a lot of pain and pain he did not want to take the time to even see me.

Dr. Perrone is amazing!! He listened to everything I had to say about my ankle injury and my concerns about missing to many practices with regionals coming up. He quickly determined a short term plan to help with pain, and we’re currently working on a long term plan to get to the bottom of why I’m always suffering ankle injuries.
The office staff is super friendly and helpful and I hardly had to wait for any of my appointments!
I’d highly recommend Dr. Perrone to anyone!

Dr. Perrone was pleasant, professional, and informative. His staff were also extremely helpful. The only problem is that I was referred for MRI, and I am still waiting for this office to get approval for MRI. Now, my MRI appointment scheduled for 7/5/24 has been canceled until approval is sought by this office. I tried to call or email this concern, but it is after hours, and I can not leave a phone message, and I can not find an email.

Dr. Perrone was great and patient in answering my questions and walking me through his thought process . Most of the medical assistants were very kind and informative through the process as well. Just wait time was a bit long between arrival, xray, initial medical assistant examination.
Front desk staff were not the warmest of people, but didn’t take away from rest of my experience at the office !

I had a great experience with Michael Perrone. He was able to relate well to my knee injury from snowboarding since he is a skier, himself. He answered all my questions in a quick and professional manner and was able to give me lots of info regarding my recovery.

Extremely kind and professional staff. I appreciate the efficiency and warmth that everyone displayed. Dr. Perrone was outstanding. He was not also knowledgeable and confident, but also personable and caring. The MA and x-ray tech who helped me were both so sweet and friendly. I left feeling so relieved after the care and guidance I received. I have a follow up appointment in a month and am sure I’ll be coming back to this office whenever I have any orthopedic related issues.
