About Dr. Michael Platt
Michael Platt is a committed and patient-oriented ear, nose, and throat doctor assisting his patients at the Boston Medical Center. Dr. Platt is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. In addition to his availability to his patients, Dr. Platt serves as an assistant professor of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the Boston University’s School of Medicine. His clinical interests include rhinology and allergies, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgeries.
Dr. Platt attended the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia to complete his medical degree. He then completed his otolaryngology residency at the Albany Medical College. Dr. Platt completed his postdoctoral training with a rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Many of Dr. Platt’s ear, nose, and throat consultations are completed in 45 minutes, and he encourages his patients to ask questions to better understand their diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare procedures.

Dr. Platt is an incredibly kind, warm, and competent doctor. He is my go-to ENT doctor. He’s always so helpful and solves my problems. It really feels like he cares and he even takes the time to teach me about the parts of my body. When doing endoscopy, he’ll point out features for me to see. I genuinely enjoy my visits- rare for a doctor’s visit!

Friend of mine referred me to Dr Platt. I figured it was finally worth a try to see why I've been short of breath all my life. Dr Platt got to the bottom of it in less than 5 minutes and the solution he prescribed is working like a charm even as I write this. Never thought this ever change but it has. Very cool to see and learn about ENT, too. Highly recommend.

As someone who is about wellness and vitality, I appreciate Dr. Platt’s willingness to allow me to see the inside interior of my nose.
(It was really cool :) ). Seeing it for myself is something I value and it provided an opportunity to rule out any complications of the “inside of my nose” vs outside (the skin, etc). Having this information provided me with a peace of mind while also becoming more interested in learning more about my lymphatic system.

Didn’t let me talk or ask any questions just pulled the “you’re a healthy young person” monologue. I could barely get a word out and am not a healthy young person, I typically never go to males for this reason, and should’ve stuck with that rule.

In my experience, Dr. Platt provided a courteous and thorough new-patient experience. I was provided with a treatment regimen to combat sinus issues and presented with next steps should symptoms not improve. Dr. Platt was approachable and provided guidance in a way that was easy to understand. The office staff at BMC was very friendly, and I hardly had any wait time despite being more than 20 minutes early to my appointment.

The visit with Dr. Platt went okay. However, the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist said he didn’t work with ringing in the ears and the inner ear inflammation. I found it hard to believe, because that’s what ENT doctors do.

The receptionist at the end of the appointment was horrendous. He is there to chat and have a good time for himself, shameless. He kept us waiting for more than 15 min while he was chatting with a lady, pretending he was scheduling her appointment. Don’t hire people for politically correct reasons, do it based on professionalism.

This was the best experience I've ever had with a medical professional. He wasn't staring at a computer screen the whole time but instead looked me in the eye and addressed all of my concerns for the entire appointment. He's great at explaining things and answered all of the questions I had (even about medical issues unrelated to what I made the appointment for). Excellent bedside manner. Would recommend to anyone!
