About Michael Roggelin

The mission of CAN Community Health is to inspire and contribute to the health and well-being of those affected by HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted diseases by providing the best care through outreach, integrated clinical practice, advocacy, education, and research. Michael Roggelin is Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is credentialed by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist. Prior to joining the CAN Community Health, he worked in other healthcare organizations in San Diego, CA, Chicago, IL Orlando, FL providing care to the LGBTQ+ and HIV patient community. Michael received his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and his master's degree in an Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program, with a specialization in HIV medicine at Duke University. He has over 30 years’ experience within healthcare ranging from the California Department of Corrections to Nursing Instructor at Brightwood College San Diego, CA. Michael has a strong passion for helping patients maximize their best health and an affinity for HIV disease. Michael was also, an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force and had the opportunity to fly in an F4 Phantom fighter jet!
