“I arrived early and within 5 minutes was greeted by the nurse and shown to the room for the doctor to see me. She asked me a few questions and shortly thereafter the doctor came in. Very cordial welcome, took care of me and I was ready to go within 5-6 minutes. Checked out and on my way. All of this within 15 minutes.”

About Michael Schoonover
Michael is a board-certified physician assistant who specializes in general and surgical dermatology. He received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Michael continued his education, receiving his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Wingate University. He completed the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants Diplomate Fellowship, and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Michael began his career working in general medicine and acute care medicine for the Pardee hospital in Western North Carolina. After two years of practicing, he transitioned to dermatology, practicing general and surgical dermatology in the rural mountain regions of Western North Carolina. Born and raised in Knoxville, TN, Michael is motivated to provide high quality, specialty care in his hometown. He is passionate about providing the same level of specialty care to more rural regions, such as Sevierville.
