About Dr. Michael Shindle

Dr. Michael K. Shindle is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and nationally recognized sports medicine specialist with extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical care of injuries to the knee, shoulder, ankle, and elbow. His expertise spans from advanced arthroscopic procedures and ligament reconstruction to innovative nonsurgical therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), viscosupplementation, shockwave therapy, and stem cell technology. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Shindle has served as a trusted Team Physician for elite professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes. His appointments include Team Physician roles for the New Jersey Devils (NHL), USA Hockey, US Men’s Soccer, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Madison High School, as well as an Orthopedic Consultant for the New York Giants (NFL). Since 2011, Dr. Shindle has been a valued physician for USA Hockey, representing Team USA at international events such as the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, the IIHF World Championships in Prague, and the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Quebec. Additionally, he has supported USA Hockey’s national teams in tournaments across Germany and other international venues. Beyond clinical care, Dr. Shindle has contributed to player safety initiatives as a member of the NHL and USA Hockey Safety and Protective Equipment Committees and served as Player Safety Coordinator for the Atlantic District of USA Hockey. He remains actively involved in youth hockey development as a former President of the NJ Colonials Youth Hockey Program and current Medical Advisory Board Member for Black Bear Sports Group.
