I spent much of my early life feeling ill, dealing with menstrual issues, pain, migraines, sinus problems, asthma, and various allergies. Until my late 20s, I didn't think anything was wrong-I believed what I felt was normal because I didn't know what it truly meant to feel healthy. As my Master's program at Pacific College of Health and Science was ending, I started feeling really sick. No matter what I did, I couldn't get better or find the cause. I always felt better returning to the Ayurvedic diet and herbal remedies I grew up with, but after turning 30, that wasn't enough. I'd get sick shortly after eating “regular” food again. For over a year, my mentor urged me to cut out gluten and processed sugar and begin regular treatment. My diet wasn't “bad,” but he saw a deeper issue. When I was ready, I began healing through an elimination diet. It was empowering-I discovered what was wrong and that the fix was rooted in my diet and lifestyle. While pursuing my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science, building on my Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbology, I created a program for myself. It combined my knowledge of hormonal imbalances, fertility health, mental health, and gut issues with ancient diets, philosophy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and self-care practices. The healing process required planning, research, and changing what I thought I knew about my health. There was emotional work I needed to do, too-I hadn't realized how much my mental health was affected by my physical health or the depression and anxiety feedback cycle I was in. Acupuncture gave me connection and grounding, while herbal therapy provided energy and nourishment. I couldn't do it alone; having support was essential. Since then, I've learned that I truly love helping others on their healing journeys.
