I grew up in a medical family in Cincinnati, always knowing that I wanted to follow the example set by my parents; caring for others as if they were family. I was named after my uncle who was paralyzed in a diving accident as a child. He inspired me to study orthopaedics so that I could help patients remain functional and independent, and his courage and perseverance to overcome the obstacles life put before him continue to motivate me to this day. I am an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of hand and upper extremity disorders, and reconstructive microsurgery. I received my undergraduate degree from The John Hopkins University, and then returned to Cincinnati to complete medical training and orthopaedic residency at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine. I pursued additional Fellowship training at The Indiana Hand Center, then came home to Cincinnati in 2005 joining the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Of Cincinnati. There I had the opportunity to educate orthopaedic and plastic surgery residents and fellows in hand and upper extremity surgery. I was a member of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Brachial Plexus and Hand Centers, and also served as the orthopaedic consultant to the Shriner’s Burn Institute prior to joining Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2009. I enjoy treating adults and children with upper extremity disorders from the shoulder to the fingertips, from the simplest to the most complex. The experience I gained while at the University of Cincinnati has allowed me to treat the entire upper extremity, regardless of the nature of the problem. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive treatments

Very compassionate and caring ! Demonstrated genuine concern ! Would definitely recommend him to anybody looking for a hand surgeon. He listened to me while I explained my symptoms and the problem I was having, He recommended some things to try, but did not force the decision! He explained in detail why he thought I was having problems.
Dr. Foad and his staff are caring, prompt, and take your concerns seriously. Highly recommend him!
He’s the best!
Dr. Foad always gives me his full attention even if he is running behind. I appreciate that!
He was wonderful. Excellent evaluation very thorough. Would recommend him to everyone.
Dr Foab is great. I love that he is thorough without being overwhelming, Authentic, caring, wicked smart, compassionate and an advocate for the plan that gives me the quality of life I want. Couldn't recommend him enough.
After being dismissed by another practice for recovery and therapy time too long Dr. Foad did not hesitate to accept my request to alleviate my hand pain. In my early 60's I want to be able to hold, and love my infant granddaughter without the fear of dropping her because of the sharp, stabbing pain in my hands. Dr. Foad surgically removed the affected arthritic bone from my thumb, reconnected the thumb with a ligament from my forearm. Within 4 weeks of surgery I was using my hand without pain. I am so glad I selected Dr. Foad for my surgeon; a very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring surgeon! Thank you and thank you to your entire staff.
Office staff very polite and thorough. Dr. Foad and staff explained options and considerations and could not have been more caring or diligent in their care. Yes, he will perform my hand surgery!
Very nice doctor. His PA is great. Very complete. Explained procedure.
The best hand specialist in the region. As a former anesthesiologist I have seen countless hand surgeons and he is the best.
Dr Foad is a knowledgeable, kind man. He is a good listener!
He is a very caring doctor that so wants to make his patients lives better. He is very skilled at what he does. I wouldn't hesitate to let him work on me. He changed my wife's life by giving her the use of her right arm again. It was a shattered mess and he overcame some issues and made her whole again
He was thorough in explaining my problem, answered all my questions.
The doc and staff was OUTSTANDING. THe paperwork was ridiculous. Intake forms required the same information repeatedly (5 forms, 5 different requirements to write name, dob, why I'm there, what's the complaint, who's next of kin, etc). It's not 1970. Get an app, ask the same question ONE TIME, and populate it in the 10 places that you need it. Also, I put all this information in using ZOCDOC and seemingly NONE of it transferred because I was asked all over again (eg: scanned my card, front and back, but still needed to scan my card front and back at the docs office. Scale of 1-10 on EFFICIENCY of intake forms: not quite a 1.
Very professional and thorough. Very good communication skills.
He was excellent.
Top of the line !! Diagnosis explanation was easy to understand. Treatment options were explained thoroughly !!!! Thanks to Dr. Foad and his assistant!
It's always a pleasure! The receptionist always address me by my first name, and is so pleasant. The x-ray technician was very professional and made sure the x-rays were of the area of concern for surgery. The Physician Assistant, Brittany, is so personable that she makes a nervous situation very relaxed. I have recommend this group to friends and family.
He is as fine a physician as I have ever known over the course of my 61 years. He is also the most empathetic and compassionate physician I have met. I highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Foad was very thorough in my examination of my hand. Would definitely recommend!
Dr. Foad, his PA, and the rest of the team were very informative. The office staff were polite. They made sure I let knowing my options.
He and his PA are friendly, attentive and professional. The entire staff is attentive and efficient.
Got everything i needed
Dr. Foad was very professional and very kind. He took his time with me, answered all of my questions, and I never felt rushed. We discussed options that might be effective before even thinking about surgery. I would recommend Dr. Foad many times over!
The staff were very professional and friendly. It was my first time visiting the facility and I was very pleased with the service that I had received.
Dr. Moab and his assistant were wonderful!!! I would highly recommend.
We waited quite a while but he is thorough, helpful and worth the wait!
very honest and pleasant highly recommend
He was very thorough and took the time to explain all options.
Everyone was professional and courteous. Check in process and paperwork was handled in a very personable and engaging way by the receptionist. Intake and radiology staff also were nice and attentive. Dr. Foad provided extremely clear explanations of my issue and my care options. Great job to all.
While Dr. Foad as clear in his explanations, options, treatment plans, etc., however, my wait time was just short of ONE HOUR. My time is very valuable and not one person shared that the doctor was running behind or when I might expect to see him. As a result, my frustration level increased while waiting. This one hour wait time frame did not seem to be an issue for Dr. Foad. He gave the impression that under one hour was actually not bad. I understand that the practice is busy, but better communication with your patients and more appropriate scheduling of your patients would go a long way in improving customer service. I was very disappointed in with the Beacon Practice.
All staff members were very friendly and polite. The doctor and assistant were very patient, kind and explained everything. Good visit!
He's always great, never rushed, and always talks to you in terms you can understand.
Dr. Foad was very personable and spent the time to make sure I understood all of my options. His PA was also very engaging and knew her stuff. I feel confident that this is the team to entrust my care with.
Dr. Foad is absolutely the best. He makes you feel so calm when you are about to get a painful injection. Actually, the injection was not that painful this time. I will definitely see him again if the problem persists.
Very the point and thorough which I appreciate
Dr. Foad is one of the finest doctors I have ever encountered. He took time to explain my particular situation and answer any questions I had. He also gave a very candid assessment of his ability to help me. I highly recommend Dr. Foad.
Dr. and his staff were great. Dr. Foad is extremely attentive and caring.
Dr. Foad is an amazing doc. He used the big medical terms but then broke it down to my level. I also liked that he isn't one to want to operate right away.
He is the best. Very compassionate and caring. Office staff is also great. A great overall experience. Highly recommended!
Very helpful and informative. Dr. Foad's PA was also very helpful and knowledgeable. I felt I was given all information, diagnosis and options. Thank you!
It was well worth the wait. Dr. Mohab did such a great job. His staff is wonderful. Originally I was told by another specialist that he suggested cortisone shots because the recovery time is over 3 months. Well not with Dr. Mohab. He did such a good job I was back in business in less than a month, no pain. I am now having the arthritis removed from my other hand. A wonderful surgeon!
Great bedside manners, straight to the point and "let's it fixed attitude". Concern for patient's well-being showed in his expressions.
He and his team are THE BEST
Dr. Foad & his PA were very personable. Their explanations were complete & easy to understand. They offered an immediate treatment & a future plan of action. I was very impressed with them & their office staff.
Always Professional. Answered my Questions. He & Brittney with Chris & Staff Have really helped me with the Entire process. Thanks Stan J
Dr. Foad was extremely thorough with my son. He performed a lengthy exam and then took time to draw pictures and explain his diagnosis with us. Even after I thought we were finished, he noticed that my 14 year old son still looked uneasy and so he took extra time to listen to him and answer his questions. He was simply wonderful.
Appreciate the time he and his physician assistant took to evaluate my arm and explaining the potential outcomes of different treatments. I requested to have treatment done that day vs coming back another day and they made every attempt to treat my symptoms the same day. Excellent experience! Thank you!!
Very informative and caring.
Dr. Foad is the best! He was very good about the details of my condition with me and what would be entailed in an upcoming surgery. He answered all of my questions very thoroughly. He has completed other surgeries for me before so I feel comfortable with his abilities.
Focused, to the point, discussed symptoms an d treatment options and included my thoughts on the plan forward.
He was wonderful. Explained everything throughly. Made me feel comfortable.
Very professional and informative. I feel very confident in his abilities to help me.
He seemed to be very persistent to get to the root of my issue. I felt like he took the time to listen and answer all my questions and then determine a course of action.
Dr. Foad is an excellent doctor. He listens to your concerns and questions and answers in terms that a person can understand i.e. not using a lot of medical jargon. He does not rush you to get to the next patient, gives you options for your conditions and in my opinion an overall excellent person and doctor.
Dr Foad is one of the most caring and thoughtful physicians I have known. He always gives you all the time necessary so you understand any procedure recommended or discussed.
He is a very good doctor. Took time to explain options. Brittany was also excellent.
Dr. Foad, along with the PA and X-ray tech that treated me were friendly and professional. Backed by X-ray images, they explained my condition in language that I understood and proposed all treatment options from a strictly neutral position. I left Dr. Foad's office confident that I had received the information about my injury necessary to choose the best road to recovery for me.
Dr. Foad and his PA were very knowledgeable and caring. They seemed truly dedicated to helping me fix my problem.
Excellent doctor. Very good
I really enjoyed my visit with him and felt he discovered the problem with my elbow. However, I had a very long wait in the waiting area. I booked with Zocdoc and received a confirmation. A day later the office rescheduled for an earlier time, but i ended waiting past my original appointment. Luckily, it was a rare day with no evening meetings, so I was able to wait. With my normal schedule, I would have had to cancel and re-book. Because I work an hour from from the location, that would have been very inconvenient.
I was very impressed by Dr. Foad, he was very thorough, caring and informative. I felt he sincerely cares about my health and well being.
Very impressed with the professionalism of everyone and how quickly each segment of the visit was executed.
I highly recommend Dr. Foad. He's extremely smart and drills down to the issue quickly...all with an kind, gentle bedside manner.
Dr. Foad is a person you will immediately like and with whom you will feel very comfortable. He does not hurry you and takes great effort to explain and make sure you understand the diagnosis and treatment. He discusses all the alternative possibilities for therapy. He embodies all of the characteristics you expect of the healing profession.
Dr. Foad and his PA, Kristina Kirchner, quickly assessed the nature of my injury. Their ability to provide options to treat the issue and let me decide a preferred course of action affirms my decision to see Dr. Foad. He performed surgery on my wrist 7-8 years ago; he was highly recommended then, and as a returning patient, I recommend others consult him before having wrist surgery elsewhere! He is caring, compassionate, and smart.
Dr. Foad is fantastic. Great bedside manner, thorough and knowledgable. Have no worries when seeking care from him. The office runs smoothly and is spotlessly clean.
I have used Dr. Foad before and this visit was just as professional as my first as was his staff.
Very efficient staff. Perfect bedside manner.
He clearly explained the origins of my two problems; the possible future of each problem; the processes for best dealing with the potential developments; and the best order of treatment for each. He asked excellent relevant and material questions, and he clearly answered all my questions. He appeared exclusively focused on my issues and never inspired in me the thought he wanted to get me done and move on to the next patient. For my hand health issues, he will be my "go to" physician. I have great trust and confidence in him and his abilities.
Despite having a late appointment, I was seen right away. Dr. Foad did a great job of explaining what he thought was going on and a possible treatment plan. After gathering more information, he changed his mind and made a different plan to address my issues. Impressed that he didn't try to fit it into a box. Able to quickly schedule treatment that I will need.
He was very nice. Check out the issue thoroughly. He understood the underlying condition and took that into consideration when deciding how to treat the problem. Great bedside matter, very friendly and understanding.
DR. Foad is an amazing doctor who truely listens to his patients concerns. He is extremely thorough and concerned about the well being of his patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Foad to friends and family.
Dr. Foad is the absolute best in his field. I have been a patient if his for many years, having carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand a few years ago. I am back to see him with issues in my left hand, and couldn't be happier. He is the best hand surgeon around, and I trust him completely!
Doctor and assistant very attentive. Asked pointed questions about my problem and took the conservative route which I liked. Very very pleased.
