Getting to know Dr. Mukesh Sanghadia

I am a Board-certified psychiatrist with Fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry. I have 4 decades of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health disorders, affecting adults, adolescents and older people. I have experience in treating substance use disorders as well, including alcohol and opiate use issues. I have experience with in use of brain modulation treatments such as TMS and ECT. I am also experienced in psychopharmacology with the use of a wide range of medications, including the oldest and the newest drugs. I also use therapy, especially CBT and other evidence-based therapies to help people realize their optimal selves.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You may expect a comprehensive evaluation of your issues. I am a psychiatrist but also a physician, and believe that the two are inseparable. As a result, my evaluations include all pertinent body systems as well as psychiatric causes of your symptoms. You will also find that the process of evaluation and treatment is non-judgmental, and this will help you talk about the most personal issues without fear, and with hope that you will find help.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial evaluation is usually for up to 60 minutes, Occasionally, complex evaluations can take longer. Once you book an appointment, you will receive a few intake forms, and a payment policy agreement that would need to be completed prior to the first appointment. Subsequent appointments are from 20 to 45 minutes, but may take longer depending on the issue. These can be weekly until an improvement has been realized after which the appointments can be spread apart wider.
