Dr. Mukund Das graduated with a bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University in 2009. He completed his medical school in 2016 from St. George's University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian- Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in 2019.
Since then, Dr. Das has worked at multiple hospitals in NY, NY, MD, MA, ME where he gained a wide range of clinical exposure. He also worked in an internal medicine clinic in Manhattan, NY. While treating various life threatening conditions at the hospital such as: hypertensive emergency/urgency, diabetic ketoacidosis/ uncontrolled hyperglycemia, decompensated heart failure, COPD and Asthma exacerbation, various arrhythmias, various infectious diseases, etc- he witnessed the lack of emphasis in modern medicine on preventive medicine, patient education, and re-enforcement of medication compliance.
He strongly believes that when a doctor takes their time to educate patients regarding their disease process and treatment options- medication compliance increases. The goal of primary care medicine should be to prevent a patient from being hospitalized by early detection and management of diseases. Dr. Das recognizes the unique health challenges that many patients currently face and his goal is to build a model of primary care that will reduce illness and improve health quality for his patients.
