The podiatrist, Naga Akella, couldn’t have been more welcoming & attentive - from the start, Naga immediately made me feel exactly like she knew what was going on within my sprained ankle, just after a few minutes of examination - then, Sofia (the sweet, purple haired medical assistant) was so personal & gentle, she even took time to do an ultrasound pain relief rub on my ankle before wrapping it up, and it helped immensely. Both Sofia & Naga not only helped me feel better this morning, but did so while also putting a smile on my face. I’ll definitely by making this my home podiatry clinic! 10/10 all around.”

About Dr. Naga Akella
Dr. Naga Akella is a board-qualified foot and ankle surgeon. She grew up in Maryland and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Public Policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She then earned a Master's in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Following this, Dr. Akella attended Temple University, where she obtained her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. She completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Akella is deeply committed to delivering patient care tailored to the unique needs of each individual. During her residency, she gained exposure to a broad spectrum of treatment options, ranging from conservative to surgical approaches, which she plans to apply thoughtfully for each patient. The residency program provided her with well-rounded, hands-on experience across various areas of pediatric medicine, including reconstruction, wound care, sports medicine, trauma, and elective surgeries.
She looks forward to returning to Montgomery County and joining the Rockville practice to serve her patients.

I recently had a stroke and could no longer see or touch my feet. My toenails had become difficult to manage.
This was my initial appointment with Dr. Akella. She was understanding and treated me with the utmost dignity and respect. She put me on a schedule for continual care that I really need.
I highly recommend Dr. Akella and the Progressive Feet Practice and look forward to my next appointment.

had a splinter in my foot for about 11 days before i got seen because i was out of the country. went to urgent care and they couldn’t help me and gave me a referral to someone who had no appointments in the next two days, which i needed since i was about to leave the country again. so i made an appointment for here. i really enjoyed my experience. parking was easy to find and so was the office. checking in and filling out the papers took me less than 10 minutes and then i was seen. the doctor was very frirndly. she understood my situation and didn’t make me feel bad. at no point was i uncomfortable or felt insecure about my feet (which i normally do). she was able to get the glass splinter out and gave me a x ray to make sure all the glass was out. i was in and out in less than an hour. i could not recommend her more, she’s truly one of the best doctors i’ve ever had.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Naga Akella for a few weeks now, and every visit has been a positive experience. She created a treatment plan right away that helped ease my pain, and with the exercises she gave me, I’ve been feeling much better. She’s easy to talk to, really listens, answers all my questions, and takes time to explain things. The nurses and staff are all friendly and make each visit comfortable. I’m always seen right away, which I really appreciate. I’d definitely recommend her!
