Dr. Shah is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who completed her undergraduate training at University of Wisconsin-Madison and medical school at American University of Antigua. She then completed her psychiatry residency at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center with training at New York -Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
She has experience in different clinical settings including both inpatient and outpatient with a variety of patient populations. Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

She was nice but refused to provide me care. I get where she's coming from as she doesn't want to do anything she's uncomfortable with, but it was a terrible experience overall to be essentially told that I'm too messed up for her to care for me. It made me feel awful, and now I'm left without prescriptions for the medication I'm supposed to take. Very unhelpful and left me feeling worse off than if I'd just never gone at all.
If you have severe or even moderate mental disorders/problems, I highly recommend another provider.

The receptionist kept me on the phone for 20 minutes and actually provided me with someone else's medical and personal information until I corrected her. She asked me to send her a picture of my insurance card and then told me I would need a 2 hour eval for my medication (SSRI) that I've been on for 16 years.

This doctor was very thorough in understanding my other conditions and was willing to speak to my existing therapist which was very important to me. She allowed me to ask follow-up questions and responded in a timely manner when I reached out to her on the messaging portal.
