About Dr. Nancy Chow Gallen
Dr. Gallen uses the power of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to treat pain and systemic concerns such as women's health (including fertility, PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, recurrent miscarriages, irregular menses, acne, menopausal symptoms, etc.) and autoimmune disorders. Her treatments often incorporate other modalities in Chinese medicine such as cupping therapy, electrical stimulation, trigger point, internal and external Chinese herbs, and moxibustion as wonderful adjunctive therapies to optimize and expedite healing. Dr. Gallen obtained her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has received the highest certification in Chinese herbology from NCCAOM®, the national board overseeing the certification of acupuncturists in the US. Dr. Gallen has had the pleasure of working at Columbia University Medical Services treating students at the Morningside campus with a broad range of issues ranging from orthopedic injuries to anxiety. She has also worked at Mt. Sinai’s Integrative Oncology Department providing acupuncture to treat the side effects of cancer patients currently undergoing treatment. Dr. Gallen had the privilege of treating pre- and post-surgical in-patients at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Her experience also includes the Veterans Administration Neurology Department treating veterans for recalcitrant pain and post traumatic stress disorder.
While her focus is predominantly on women's health and pain, especially hard-to-treat pain, Dr. Gallen is trained in microneedling and facial cosmetic acupuncture and enjoys bringing out one's beauty holistically from the inside out.

I have been a regular patient of Nancy's for almost two years now and I cannot recommend her enough. Seriously, I've sent at least eight friends and family members to her and will continue to do so because Nancy is such a wonderful practitioner of TCM. The only way I can explain it is that Nancy is a beacon of light and positivity with the best bedside manner. I was struggling immensely both physically and mentally before going to her, but through her treatments I was able to get off of all of my medications. Nancy is so empathetic and genuinely cares so much about her patients; it is evident from the moment you meet her. I highly recommend Nancy for everything from acupuncture to cupping to herbal consultations.

Nancy is a brilliant Acupuncturist. She listened carefully, and treated my back with care and precision. I was pleasantly surprised the my back pain subsided by 50% after the 1st treatment, and even more so the day after. Nancy explained that I may experience some muscle soreness that resembles delayed onset muscles soreness (DOMS), like after a workout, and I should increase my water intake. She even gave me some stretching and movement homework to do that was not complicated or require any fancy machinery/gadgets. Nancy also explained that in order to make a shift in my imbalances stick, it is wise to have at least 5 treatments with a reassessment after the 3rd treatment. I was convinced with the 50% reduction in pain after my 1st visit, and while I am not totally “out of the woods,” I feel way better and stronger than I have in a long time.

I saw Dr. Gallen for chronic back and neck pain. She talked to me about her plan for treatment beforehand and I was able to get all my questions answered. She used acupuncture, sliding cups, Chinese liniments, and heat. It was very relaxing and my pain improved greatly. I would highly recommend her and go back often to continue feeling my best.

I had chronic back pain and sciatica for several years. I had tried physical therapy, chiropractic, and painkillers but nothing helped. I wanted to avoid surgery so decided to try acupuncture despite my fear of needles. Dr. Gallen was very patient and explained the whole process of acupuncture to me. She eliminated my sciatica and back pain after several weeks of treatments. I could not believe it! I would highly recommend Dr. Gallen to everyone who is searching to free their lives of pain. Amazing!

I saw Dr. Gallen for plantar fasciitis. After several treatments my pain was gone. Dr. Gallen asked many questions and listened to me before the treatment. It was my first time doing acupuncture and she was gentle. I felt comfortable during the treatment. She is very professional and easy going.
I never felt rushed in our appointments and she always asked me for feedback after the treatments. I would definitely go back to see her in the future.

I am a runner with pain in my back and knees and occasionally go in for chiropractic adjustments. Never tried acupuncture but figured I would give it a try. Dr. Gallen is so friendly and knowledgeable about all the muscles involved and was able to find and release muscles I didnt even know were tight. By the end of the first appointment my pain was reduced and I felt noticeable improvement with my flexibility - definitely plan on making this a part of my maintenance routine!

Along with physical therapy, Nancy treated me for a shoulder injury I received at work. It was a complete success and now my shoulder is back to normal 100%.
Nancy is a kind, caring, very knowledgeable professional with an exceptional bedside manner.

I can't say enough about the excellent care I received each time I saw Nancy for an acupuncture treatment. She took the time to get to know me and my needs, and with every treatment my pain level decreased. I looked forward to my appointments knowing that we were working together to heal me. Nancy takes a holistic and natural approach to how she helps her patients. My girlfriend and I both see her and she continues to help us day in and day out. She’s attentive, caring, thorough and overall just a sweet and amazing person. I would highly recommend seeing her. She has the best bedside manner in the game and continues to follow up and answer any questions long after her initial treatments.
