“Dr. Nancy was wonderful! It was great to meet with an actual provider and not an NP. I have no issues with NP’s, but it was nice to see the actual provider. She was amazing with my son and thorough and detailed. She spoke to him like a regular person and not just a kid who doesn’t know anything. I appreciated her a lot.
I will say, the front of house staff were not the friendliest. They informed me that ZocDoc is for requesting appointments and not for scheduling and confirming, which would have been fine if they didn’t seem disgruntled and annoyed with me the entire time. I had a “booked confirmation” email, but I was told I shouldn’t have assumed it was confirmed. The nurse I dealt with before meeting Dr. Nancy was very blunt and did not have a good energy for a pediatric office. The office was dark and silent, which was slightly off putting.
All in all, we will definitely return - Dr. Nancy was awesome.”

About Dr. Nancy Elawabdeh
Dr. Nancy is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio. After finishing her training, she fell in love with the city and made many wonderful friends. She decided to stay and call San Antonio her new home.
Prior to establishing Brio Pediatrics, she worked at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Department as a general pediatrician, caring for a wide range of illnesses-from the common cold to life-threatening conditions and COVID-19. This experience allows her to manage many illnesses in the clinic or at home without the need for an ER visit, while also knowing when it's necessary to be evaluated in the emergency department and what to expect.
She welcomed her first son, Elijah, at the beginning of 2020, which made her a better pediatrician. She developed a passion for breastfeeding and became certified to practice breastfeeding medicine through the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and Lactation Education (IABLE).

The doctor is nice and I would recommend her. However, whoever is in charge of scheduling appointments for this office needs to be re-trained. I booked an appointment through Zocdoc twice and both times they cancelled my appointment and asked me to come at a different day or time. The second time, they gave me less than an hour notice of the cancellation and only communicated by voicemail, which I did not see in time to adjust my plans. If you want to see this doc, don't book through the website bc they don’t honor the appointments.
