Dr. Nanette Silverberg is a warm and caring dermatologist serving the community of New York, NY. Dr. Silverberg obtained her medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, where she also completed her residencies in pediatrics and dermatology. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Northwestern University and Children's Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Silverberg is a part of Mount Sinai Beth Israel/SLR Dermatology Associates. She is certified in pediatric dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Silverberg is an excellent clinician with a broad range of dermatologic interests and publications. Dr. Silverberg has published over 180 scholarly articles, abstracts and chapters in several journals. Dr. Silverberg has received numerous awards and accolades including Teacher of the Year in dermatology, poster awards by the Society for Pediatric Dermatology for scholarly research, and has been elected annually to the prestigious Castle Connolly, Best Doctors, since 2010 and has been featured in Super Doctors in The New York Times.

If you can, please avoid visiting with Dr Silverberg and her staff. They asked us to show up early since it was our 15 month old son's first appointment. We did, but they did not see us for over 2 hrs and had complete apathy towards us waiting. From hearing others in the waiting room, this was normal there. What made it worst is that when we finally saw the Dr she barely took a look at our son and gave us a cookie cutter talk about his conidition on toddlers. She made no apology for being late and barely took time to diagnose my son. We will not go back.
I waited for 1.5 hours for my appt. This kind of behavior really upsets me.
She was helpful with a lot of recommendations of where to go to check my skin and protect it. However, I think she did a rush job, and didn't feel she really thoroughly check me. My scalp wasn't really checked, and she had an assistant which you are always supposed to have standing there while they skin screen check you. Although, he was standing right across from me in the corner of the small room I was checked in, it felt really uncomfortable, especially when I needed her to check the privates. He also gave me some odd looks before and after the screening. I hope she realizes, that it was an awkward screening and I have no qualms about being checked everywhere in front of professionals, however, the positioning, person all added up to something quite uncomfortable. Sorry! Nanette Silverberg!, but I will be choosing someone else. Also, something rather strange, was that she said anyone more at risk of skin cancer, like having a genetic predisposition like i have, should come in every 6 months. I know this to be true if you have had Malenoma already, but not so if you have not. I just make sure I check every year. I have also been told I have about 30 moles that is lower than the usual, so I don't feel the need to be overly doing visits and paying more just because of this recommendation from her if I don't have to.
SHe was very knowledgeable and concise. Also, kudos to Samantha at the front desk who made waiting a painless process.
My son was seen very quickly, however the appointment felt rushed. She did not take the time to become familiar with my child, performed a minor examination, and did not illuminate a welcoming vibe for a new mother and her concerns. Overall, I feel the bare minimal was accomplished.

She's so sweet and informative. She knows exactly what she's doing. I had to wait a little bit for her but that's only because she had a procedure with another patient before me. If it wasn't for that patient I would of been seen right away. I highly recommend her she's awesome
I had to wait to see the doctor for awhile but as always well worth it. Dr. Silverberg is knowledgeable, personable and easy to talk to. I have been a patient for years and have faith in her care.

Dr Silverberg is excellent and thorough. The wait time of 90 minutes wasn't ideal, but her care made up for it.
I have been visiting Dr. Silverburg since 2013 and my most recent visits have been awful. She will rush through your diagnosis, prescribe medications that will cause irration, and worst of all, she'll become agitated when you ask her questions. Be weary of booking an appointment with a doctor who does not have the patients best interest at heart.
I waited in the lobby filling out forms as a first time patient and when I shared the completed pages with the front desk, I was informed the doctor does not accept my insurance (HealthFirst Medicaid) at that location (59th St).
She's a nice woman, and I think I'll be back.
I made my appointment through zoc doc and the offices rescheduled it without notifying me. They put me in for two hours after i had originally arrived for my appointment and i continued to wait for another hour and a half beyond that before i was seen. When i finally saw the doctor i felt that she was rushing to read me a script. She didn't examine my issue or listen much to my concern. I was sent of with a prescription witch i had asked if my insurance would cover and was told most likely. It was not so i had to return to the office and receive a new one. The new prescription i got was horrible for my skin type. It was almost as if she didn't even care to check my files before writing me a new one.
