My name is Naomi Powell. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I have been in healthcare for over 19 years. I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, Arlington. I received a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from WGU Texas and then completed a Post Masters Certificate (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) from Wilkes University.
My passion is mental health. I aim to positively impact as many lives as possible. If you have worked with me in the past, you know that I will give you my best and expect your best in return. Some sessions may end with homework for you. Some sessions may begin with whether or not we've both done our part. It is all about your progress.

The road to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner was not without twists and turns. I've worked as a nurse in the jail, critical care, psychiatric facilities, and emergency services. I've also been a chief nursing officer and a school nurse. The career that brought me the most joy was education. Educating our high school students and nursing students helped me to realize my true calling. This is where I saw the great need for mental health providers. My passion to help people with their mental health came from a passion to serve our underserved and underprivileged populations.
I serve adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations. I specialize in patient-centered care. Each care plan is tailored to the patient. Goals are set with the patient to ensure that they are patient centered.
