What is your typical process for working with clients?
The initial meeting with the patient begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation. This important step enables me to gain a better understanding regarding your symptoms, identifying exacerbating and alleviating factors, and learning more about your medical, psychiatric, and social history. Typically, the first appointment lasts for about one hour. The treatment plan is established during the first appointment. The follow up appointments are subsequently scheduled after the initial evaluation, and usually last for thirty minutes. I dedicate plenty of time throughout the initial evaluation and the follow-up appointments for patient education. Knowledge regarding the available pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options assists in making better and more informed decisions.
