Dr. Dargani is a board-certified psychiatrist who brings expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to treat psychological and emotional problems at this private practice. He has unique experience in treating OCD with both medications and evidence-based psychotherapy, having been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (EX/RP) at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. Dr. Dargani is adept at using Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Complicated Grief Treatment (CGT) to treat depression and anxiety as a result of losses and life challenges.
Dr. Dargani also holds a BS degree in neuroscience and psychology from the University of Rochester and a master's degree in Public Health from SUNY Downstate School of Public Health, where he focused on immigrant health. As a result of this work, along with extensive experience working in some of New York's most diverse neighborhoods, he is adept at working with people's mental health concerns as they present in various social and cultural contexts.
