About Dr. Neal Smith
Neal Smith, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement of the hip and knee, knee arthroscopy, trauma, and both adult and pediatric orthopedics. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York University and completed an internship in General Surgery at Cornell University, New York Campus, North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Smith then pursued his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at New York University, Bellevue Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a fellow of both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
During his residency, Dr. Smith served as assistant team physician for the New York Yankees. Throughout his career, he has presented several times at Orthopedic Grand Rounds on topics including complications of revision total hip arthroplasty, treatment of infected total knee arthroplasty, and advances in total joint arthroplasty.

Dr. Smith was very professional, great listener and patient with my mother today. She had a bad fall and hurt her back. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. His bedside manner was superb! I highly recommend him. It’s very hard to find all of this from one doctor but he is all of it 100%.

I want to see an orthopedic doctor about a year ago. I thought it was my imagination, but I thought the guy was very rude and trying to push unnecessary surgery on me. Well, it happens that a year later, I had the opposite experience with this doctor. He said that I had a little bit of arthritis in my spine and some disk problems he didn't even mentioned surgery. He said that I probably needed some physical.Therapy. I walked out feeling pretty good about my problem. No one likes to have pain or back issues.But it's a pot of life. His bednight's side manner was outstanding . He was very friendly and kind. The office staff was also a very upbeat and friendly.... The offices were clean and it seemed very well managed and organized. Parking was plentiful.I didn't have to walk much into that building, which is a plus if you're experiencing back pain or any other kind of pain. I recommend this office a thousand percent!@

From setting up my appointment with ZocDoc to checking out it was an quick and efficient experience. The staff at the Orlin and Cohen facility were friendly and inviting. Everyone that had a process on my appointment was the best. After taking x-rays, the doctor shortly reviewed them and discussed my prognosis and offered me various treatments without any pressure. I would highly recommend this doctor and staff at this facility.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! I chose this practice for an emergency & because they received good ratings, but boy was I wrong. The staff made so many mistakes; my information was put in wrong into the system at check in which caused issues at check out. The doctor has no bedside manner, dismissed all of my concerns, he did not listen to me AT ALL and essentially brushed me off. The following day I called the office because I was still experiencing excruciating pain, I was told the doctor or nurse would call me back, hours passed & I never received a call. I called back later that day & was told my message was sent to the wrong dept. & now since it was after hours & the doctor was out for the week I wouldn’t receive a call until the morning. I did not receive a call back until almost 1p. Please do not waste your time & money going here, it’s pointless.

There were three people ( a single and a couple) who were called and seen before me. I arrived at 1:15 pm for a 1:30 appt. The others arrived way after me. Had they had earlier appts- their names would have been called prior to mine BUTWERE NOT!!!!! Absolutely disrespectful and disgusting to say the least. After 1:45 minutes of waiting - I started to leave when the dr finally showed. ABSOLUTELY POOR MANAGEMENT AND DISTRSPECT OF PATIENTS. Orlin and Cohen should reasses who they employ and what rules they should follow.

Dr. Smith is an excellent physician. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and issues. He conducts a thorough screening and explains your diagnosis clearly. He gives options for treatment plans. I have seen him twice and he has run on time for both appointments. The nursing staff, physician assistants and radiologist technicians are equally friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was welcoming, polite, and efficient. I definitely recommend Dr. Smith and this practice.
