Neda Black, MD, FAAD, is a highly-regarded and well-trained double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatopathologist focusing on medical and cosmetic dermatology. She sees patients at California Dermatology and Mohs Surgery Specialists in Pasadena, California. Having practiced in the Pasadena area for nearly a decade, she is a renowned dermatologist and a beloved member of the community, and she has been selected to Pasadena Magazine’s Top Doctors, Los Angeles Magazine’s Top Doctors, and Best of the Best Top Doctors several years in a row.
After graduating with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley, with degrees in both molecular & cell biology and public health, Dr. Black earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Here, she was elected valedictorian for achieving the highest academic achievements of her medical school class. She received numerous other accolades and awards, including Highest Distinction, the American Medical Women’s Association Academic Achievement Award, the American Medical Association Clinical Award, and the American Medical Association Research Award.
She was also inducted into the prestigious national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, widely considered the most prestigious award in medical school. Dr. Black subsequently completed her residency training in dermatology at the University of Southern California, where she was elected to serve as Chief Resident of the program.After residency, she went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in dermatopathology under the direction of Loren Golitz, MD, at the University of Colorado Denver. This extra training has allowed her to develop special expertise in the microscopic diagnosis of skin cancer and skin disease. Dr. Black has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology.

Dr Black was attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. She reviewed a prior surgery another provider completed and addressed issues I was still having.
I left the visit feeling very confident in the doctor's abilities and will continue to be a patient of the practice. In addition, the facility....waiting room, exam room etc. were impeccable which I appreciated. I would recommend Dr Black to family and friends without reservation.

Provider took the time to explain treatment methods answered all my questions and doubts. She did not rush us to make a decision explaining with care as if it was for her own children. Very patient we felt like she really cares for patients. A co-worker referred me to this provider and I am glad she did very happy with this visit.

She listened to me, recommended a few things that was my concern and we start the treatment based on her recommendation. She also schedule a follow up to check in and see the result. She also offered to treat a few areas that I haven’t notice on my face and body.

Bright, clean office. MD was very efficient and fast. I would like a slower pace and more discussion about my background, but totally understand healthcare office visits in 2025 are reimbursed very low so time is money. I scheduled a second visit, and maybe that visit will be more comprehensive.

Yes, I'll go back, but I'm on a walker, and the blue parking (and regular) is insufficient. The walk was unacceptably long from the Alessandro parking lot. The Bellefontaine one was full. There weren't any blue spaces in the Alessandro lot either, so I had to park in one of the physicians spaces and was subject to being towed!

The visit was super fast - Dr Black probably spent 5 minutes with me. The office is efficient but it definitely felt rushed and an in and out kind of place if that's what you prefer. I was taken back immediately and left within 10 minutes.

Dr. Neda was really kind and knowledgeable. She answered any questions I had and did a skin cancer/mole screening really quickly. She's the first dermatologist I've seen that hasn't tried to push any products or botox on me. The whole office is extremely organized and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this practice.
