About Dr. Neil Brody
Dr. Neil Brody is a board certified dermatologist practicing general and cosmetic dermatology with a unique approach to his patients. He completed his undergraduate degree at Boston University and subsequently went on to attend the New York University School of Medicine where he earned a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology and a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD). Dr. Brody completed his Dermatology residency training at New York University and a fellowship in immunology at Cornell Medical Center. Upon completion of his training, Dr. Brody started the first photobiology outpatient centers in both Brooklyn and Long Island where he began an outpatient psoriasis care center. Dr. Brody has been involved in groundbreaking research in numerous facets of dermatology including work on the immunology of melanoma and more recently antioxidants and their effects on skin. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Brody’s collaborations with pharmaceutical and medical device companies have led to the development of lasers and topical products that are currently being used by countless practicing specialists nationwide.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Brody has served as Vice Chairman of Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he ran the inpatient and consulting services and was the first laser officer at the center. He continues to run a weekly journal club and clinical conferences for the residents. While Dr Brody loves teaching and original research what he cares most about is patient care.

The staff is wonderful, helpful and super patient. The doctor is amazing. Have been a patient for many reasons, Doctor is super thorough in going through any questions, concerns etc. Explained all suggested medicines and patiently discussed any and all concerns I had.

I did not have a great experience. I may have visited Dr. Brody on an off day. He was borderline condescending and insulting. I did not ask for treatments to make me look younger but he felt very comfortable to tell me what I needed saying that I make weird faces when I talk that causes lines and wrinkles that he can get rid of with Botox. He rubbed me the wrong way. There was also a very heavy push to buy their facial products. Apparently the products I use (Skinceuticals) is worth an eye roll. He is not someone I feel comfortable with.

The reception staff were able to retrieve my info directly from Zocdoc, I was seen fairly quickly as a new patient, and was offered highly effective treatments for conditions on one knee and my hands. They also turned around lab culture results within 48 hours.

Waited over an hour and a half for my appointment. Doctor answered all of my questions but he addressed my issues with endorsing his own products. Just like many other Dermatology offices. Whatever I seemed to be doing or using before the visit was not good. Even the way I take my shower was not good. My soap and lotion was not good. My medication was not good. I walked out of there with products and a bit cynical.
