About Dr. Nhi Vu-Ticar

Dr. Nhi Vu-Ticar was raised in Duluth, Georgia, and is proud to return home to serve the community where her journey into medicine began. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in Theatre Arts. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine, also magna cum laude, from St. George’s University. Dr. Vu-Ticar completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky, where she was recognized in the top 10% of her graduating class and received the Program Director’s Award. She then completed her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Vu-Ticar has a strong interest in lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, critical care medicine, and improving healthcare access for underserved populations. She has contributed to numerous research projects, publications, and national presentations with a focus on health disparities, ICU quality improvement, and pulmonary diagnostics. Outside of medicine, Dr. Vu-Ticar enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Her hobbies include knitting, powerlifting, solving jigsaw puzzles, and playing video games. She is also fluent in Vietnamese and is passionate about serving diverse patient populations.
