Getting to know Nicole Albaugh

Hi there, I'm Nicole! Hello! My name is Nicole Albaugh, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Ada, MN. I serve clients in both North Dakota and Minnesota through telehealth or in-person visits. I assist clients of all ages by employing a holistic approach to foster overall wellness and by collaborating with other professionals to support your journey towards becoming the person you aspire to be. My approach My care approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These methods offer a window into the client's world, enabling us to collaboratively develop a plan that empowers them to become who they are meant to be. My focus I find fulfillment in working with clients of all ages who face a diverse range of disorders. My extensive experience includes assisting individuals battling eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. My goal is to aid them in finding the appropriate medications to manage their conditions, enabling them to develop the coping strategies essential for navigating life and realizing their full potential. My communication style I maintain a relaxed, calm, open, and personable communication style. It's important to me that my clients feel they are in a safe space, where they can comfortably discuss their issues in a non-judgmental and serene setting. My journey to mental healthcare I discovered my passion for psychology during my senior year of high school, viewing it as a means to assist others and make a societal impact. After earning my Master's in Counseling, I felt unfulfilled and uncertain about pursuing a PsyD., which had been my initial plan, or embarking on a different path. A psychologist suggested I consider a nursing career, given my past experience and my love for teaching and helping others achieve their goals.
