Hi there, I'm Nicole!
My name is Dr. Nicole Asante, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as Family Nurse Practitioner based in Knoxville Tennessee and working with clients Tennessee and Kentucky via telehealth. I work with age 15 and above and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, eating disorder, substance abuse, strong knowledge in Veteran's care, schizophrenia as well as other mental health conditions, I believe in a combination of medication regimen and counseling to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
My approach to mental health care varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I encourage and recommend a combination of medication regimen and therapy for the best result to maintain an equilibrium in mental health. I also focus on a holistic approach to mental health which considers mental health's effects on chronic medical condition as well as chronic medical condition effects on mental health.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for ages 15 and older who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, substance abuse, eating disorders as well as formation of other mental health conditions. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was a Family Nurse Practitioner for over 10 years when I opened my practice in a rural area. I recognized immediately that disparities in mental health and the need for a mental health provider in this underserved area.
